It's been an amazing and beautiful outdoor concert experience hands down. Sandy Amphitheater is clean, organized, readily prepped to accommodate guests, families with or without children.
There is no such thing as 'bad seats' in this outdoor, attractive open air concert venue. It is a smaller seating capacity in comparison to other concert venues. Sandy Amphitheater offers a magnificent and a phenomenal venue escape that other concert arenas/stadium don't offer.
It's beautiful constructed with upper concrete ramp you walk to to get to the stage and all awhile, beauty surrounds you with trees, shrubs, clean seating, flooring, bird eye's view from a 360 panoramic angle.
Excellent sound quality throughout, clear audio acoustics even for those who has some hearing impairment, there is no mistaken the audio sound quality is exceptional. When you go to a concert at Sandy Amphitheater, let you ears be the judge how crystal clear the sound system releases live music. Pay attention to the sound all around you, equalized and impressive.
There are two (2) separate concession stations and there aren't that many concessions to choose from due to the size of the amphitheater. There aren't more space to build more concessions.
There are 3 slider windows to order food-drinks, the lines can be long. There is a smaller concession area up the concrete 2 steps stairs, you can the posted "bar code" sign get online to order food-drinks. This smaller concession goes through much faster than the slightly bigger concession with 3 windows to order your needs.
The bathrooms are convenient and is located by the concession area, men-women/family of your options. The bathroom facility is clean with many sinks, a good supply of paper towels. Easy in, easy out, back to your seats.
The theater's half circle concrete steps could be a bit challenging to those who have knee issues, weak knees, the steps are high, tall, and big-wide. Just hold on to the metal railings for additional supports if have these concerns.
Volunteers are within the facility to assist to locate your seats. The staff/volunteers are friendly-helpful. Sandy law enforcement, Sandy ambulance EMT are there to assist should someone requires health issues, concerns or a little help.
Parking is limited as the parking lot has its limited capacity. Tips: Get there 1-1/2 hour early, we got there an hour to :45 minutes early, the parking lot was already quite full and filled with vehicles that came before us.
We noticed when stalls are fully taken and occupied; some motor bikes actually parked along side by the curb by the trees which is not a parking space. This says a lot that again, parking is limited, somewhere along the dotted line, you will still find a space either on the side of the street , outskirts of the theater street curbs, so no worries.
Just give yourself plenty of time to get time, unforeseen traffic backups, time to find parking, etc. Use common judgement.
We love the Chicago (Thursday 8/21/2025) concert, Neil Donnel, lead singer pretty much throughout the evening. Followed by Robert Lamm, and the rest of the band members (two outstanding drummers, long horn highly experience players) they blew guests away with their long time solid-gold music lyrics and music.
Handicapped Accessibility: We didn't notice there is a concrete ramp to wheel guests up to their seats. Stairs only, I believe. You can check by calling or emailing Sandy Amph.
Sandy Amph's service is red carpet service, an under statement. The vibes are truly unique and extraordinary.
We plan returning to Sandy Amphitheater many more times. We love being there. To conclude the entire experience, don't forget to take pictures when the sun is setting, sundown, I tell you, it is absolutely unforgettable, worth capturing! Memories !!
I don't commonly provide a 5 star Shining Review to just any organizations and companies. Sandy Amphitheater earned every star. Says a lot...
Read moreWhat a great location for a concert venue! Every seat in the house is a great seat -- clear lines of sight, wide seats to accommodate a lil extra sumpn sumpn, wide aisles so you don't knock over someone's drink or step on anyone's toes. The lawn is not as spacious as USANA, but it doesnt need to be as it is suitable for the crowds that attend the shows that are hosted there -- definitely an older and chiller crowd considering the nostalgia acts that seem to play there (I'm all about nostalgia BTW; my kinda crowd!) The sound is awesome -- not too loud and not muddy at all. This venue is right around the corner from our home, so it's easy in, easy out with our teen Uber-type driver. This makes life easy for us as parking is kind've a pain -- not a whole lot of parking, especially when the more popular acts come thru. Once the parking lots fill up, overflow parking can be found on 1300 East or along 9400 South, which can be a little scary with car doors flinging open, jaywalkers, cars darting in and out of traffic -- be aware, be careful! Parking can be found in neighboring businesses and Alta View Hospital just south of the venue, but I'd be wary when parking in those places as I've been taken to the cleaner's once by an unscrupulous tow company who held my vehicle hostage in their lot. But who knows -- maybe these businesses don't mind. As for concessions, my wife indicates drink pricing for sodas fluctuate according to whose playing the venue. At the 80s pop show, a 44oz Diet Coke cost $2; at the 90s rock show, a Diet Coke cost $4. Theyve got popcorn, hot dogs and candies for sale, and beer is available too. One of the best perks of attending a show at Sandy Amphitheatre is the option to bring a cooler full of yer fave beverage and snacks, as well as the allowance of small, short concert chairs for use on the lawn. In short, Sandy...
Read moreSierra Ferrell was amazing! However.. parking is an absolute joke. Give your self an extra hour to ensure you’re able to enjoy the entire show. We had to park in the Lowe’s parking lot, and walk to the venue (at least a quarter of a mile - a mini uphill hike if you will). Because of this, we missed Nick Shoulders set. Sandy Amphitheater needs to work on accommodating their guests a little better. At least offer “overflow parking” to your guests with disabilities.
I suggest eating before the event - there is only 1 restaurant in the venue, and it also happens to be the only place to purchase drinks. The upside is that you can order, and pay from your phone. Downside is that the menu has few options, and is over priced considering the portions you get. When your order is ready you receive a text, and eventually your name is called. It’s basically a pool of confused/frustrated guests trying to figure out how they’ll ever get their food. Hiring food vendors, and lowering capacity would make Sandy Amphitheater more enjoyable.
If you have been to Layton Amphitheater.. Sandy Amphitheater honestly didn’t seem much bigger. Ticket prices for this event drastically fluctuated. I was disappointed that my only option for purchasing tickets for this event was via Ticket Master. We paid way too much for our tickets. For such a small venue I feel this is their biggest screw up. Take advantage of pre-sales if you can.
It’s also probably important to know that wasps are hard to avoid. Maybe spray your facility a little more often.
As for sound.. I don’t have any complaints! Not too loud, not too quiet. Instrumentation and vocals had a nice balance. It’s easy to enjoy the music once you’re settled in your seat. You’re surrounded by Utah’s beautiful mountains which adds...
