We were driving down the Pacific Coast in our RV and decided to try and find a place in Santa Cruz. We called the SC Harbor RV Park - no answer so we left a message explaining we were driving through Santa Cruz and was looking to spend the night. We were close so we decided to drive to the harbor to see if they had any openings. As we drove up, it looked more than half empty. We saw A sign in front of a towable camper that said "RV Host - must check in upon arrival". I wasn't sure if this was an office so I went up to the door and knocked - waited 20 to 30 seconds - no answer so I knocked again (harder) - waited another 20 to 30 seconds but still no answer so thinking whoever was inside could not hear me, I cracked the door open and said , "hello?" Suddenly a large man comes at me from inside screaming at me to get the hell out of his house - yelling that it is his private residence and how dare I go into someone's private home. I was genuinely shocked and thought I must've gone to the wrong door to find the RV Host. I apologized profusely and tried to explain that I knocked twice but there was no answer and that I didn't "go into" his home but cracked the door to say hello because I wasn't sure if anyone heard me knocking and thought I was at an office. It didn't matter how much I tried to apologize, the guy just kept screaming at me. I finally stopped trying to apologize and asked if he was the RV Host and he said, "Yeah - so what do you want?" I walked back to my RV and drove away. I just could not believe anyone would treat a customer so rudely - he truly made me feel personally violated. It's no wonder the place was half empty based on the way I was treated. I wish I could give this place zero stars. About 3 hours after leaving my message, Mark, the "RV Host" returned my call to see if I still wanted to stay there. I explained that I was already there and he treated me like crap but thanked him for giving me his name so I could lodge a formal complaint. If this RV Park is owned by the city or other government entity, they are going to have one heck of a lawsuit on their hands when Mark attacks the...
Read moreThis is a nice spot with full hookups nice walking area. A few things that are on the negative side. When we arrived our name was not on the white board with our camp site number, so CALL AHEAD to save yourself from a headache. The camp host is not very helpful, when you arrive and you have a slide out…. Before you back in have your slide out all the way out so you can line it up with the white line. We though we were good, nope after we backed in and started to detach, the camp host told us to move over closer to the white line on the right if your facing the small hill. The spots are on the main harbor road, so traffic is ridiculous and they don’t follow the speed limit signs. You have to have your head on a swivel as the bicyclist come flying down the hill(there is a stop sign, but they don’t stop) and they don’t care if your in the roadway; car or person. There is Harbor Patrol that try to enforce the stop signs for cars AND bicyclist. Not really a potty spot for dogs like green grass, but there are some areas they can do their business. There is not an area for kids to play OR ride scooters/bikes. It is a bit nerve racking when you are backing your trailer up when you arrive, as traffic has to stop so your able to park your trailer and the people do not like waiting and the same for leaving…. It’s a tight squeeze when you depart. There is a extra parking lot that you can park in if your truck does not fit in your camp spot. During our stay out camp neighbor had some stuff stolen, so lock everything up even shoes!!! We have a 26ft travel trailer with 1 slide out and a regular truck bed just...
Read moreBeautiful and quiet with great restaurants an easy 3/4 mile walk through marina away. IMPORTANT: Verify your spot number ahead of time though because when we got there at 1045 our name and spot number was not posted on the white board as was another person's. We knocked on the door of the check in trailer and no one was there, and no one answered the phone. So we called and left a message and parked in an empty spot and went to a family member's memorial at the yacht club. We got a call back at 1115 that we are in the wrong spot and need to move our rv. He said well you got there before your 1100 check in time. Seriously?!? It was only 15 minutes before and no one was around! I asked if we can move it in 2 hours but nope. The spots are all in a line and appear the same so I don't know what the big deal was. I had to leave the family memorial and go back to move our rv and lost over 30 min of a 2 hour memorial. Not a...
