Crescent Bay Park — Attraction in Santa Monica

I was coming in for a company event and the machine to pay for parking was broken so me not knowing that I was prepared to pay with my card because I was told that you could. Anyways long story short the parking attendant was very rude about the fact that the machine was not working, proceeded to tell me that I could go park on the street that visually had absolutely no parking with a hurry up and go type attitude. I did have just enough cash to pay for parking but the last dollar was in coins and she told me that she couldn't take coins. She wouldn't let me at least park near my event exchange with my coworkers so I could pay. It took another parking attendant, who observed the situation, to apologize for the interaction and allow me to park my car and come back to pay for the parking and she still had an attitude...

If you want a less expensive way to park and get easy and quick access to the beach, this is the spot. As a Black person in SoCal this area has a historical significance for me. Derogatively called 'The Inkwell' by Whites during Jim Crow period, this was the safe part of the beaches for Black people to enjoy their fun in the sun. Whenever I go there, I can see my Ancestors dancing in the moonlight to the band music from the then Whites-only Casa del Mar Club, having the last laugh. I'm kind of torn from a review standpoint this is actually a good point to park and go to the beach at night I left at 4 a.m. and there were still people everywhere the reason I'm torn is because there's a lot of trash around on the street like people dump their trash out of their cars it's also a very young area I would never want to live around here many people are loud and disrespectful to the hour at that time and the fact that people live right near these parking spots on the street but overall the beach scene clean in this area there were enough people around that I felt safe and it was wonderful to just sit on the sand and listen to the...
