I placed a order for running boards for Jeep Renegade went into store to get "expert help" order boards everything went well boards fit car all checks mark where green on there computer system guy said yes that will fit looks good ! I had already gotten a quote of 250 for installed no prob I said. Instal day came dropped off car, got call back around 1.5 hours was asked if I had gotten instal price I said yes (250) the guy said its going to be 350/400 because he hasn't ever worked with that brand and the boards are bolted in and its taking longer he says I already installed one but its going to be longer no prob I said. Nothing I could do one board was already installed so no point in stoping now. 45 min later got called again this time I was told that boards are secured and that since they guarantee work they wouldn't be able to install them ! I was told I can refund you the money or I can give you the boards and you can take them to get installed somewhere else he proceeded to mention that since it was my specific choice to order them that they couldn't do anything more. This guy was good at one thing passing the blame around first at the sales guy who helped for giving me wrong price then for me ordering a part that he hadn't ever worked as if I the customer should've known better to do that to them. Very frustrating experience he refused to give me his name but doesn't matter he knows who he is. This happen today 2/7/24 I am sure who ever works there can figure who was it that was working there there where only 2...
Read moreRack attack installed an inferior trailer hitch (available on Amazon for $70.00 with a 1 star review, see below) on my SUV for $280.00. The rack hung down more than three inches from the car's undercarriage (see photo) eliminating half of the ground clearance and making it useless for driving on anything but perfect roads. When this was pointed out to the manager, he became extremely aggressive and rude, and refused to offer any sort of remediation. Note that when you read the review on Amazon, you find that CURT replaced this hitch with another model in 2016 because of this problem. To summarize Rack Attack installed a discontinued, clearly defective hitch and refused to do anything about it, including removing the hitch, which makes my car practically undriveable.
Update 12/3/20. Nate "the owner" finally got back to me after a week of calling and emailing on my part. He told me that he was not going to do anything to rectify the situation. So - now I am stuck with having to pay a mechanic to take the defective hitch off my car to restore it to the same state it was in when I first took it to...
Read moreAll in all a good experience, but a few things prevented this from being five stars.
Pros: Good initial consultation, knowledgeable staff who quickly helped me identify the best equipment for my surfboard use case that was compatible with my Camry. Fair pricing for products and installation
Okay: Did an okay job on the price match. However they only max price match up to 20%. So as a result I ordered the SKS 4-set locks off Amazon instead because the price difference was 20%
Cons: Very rushed walkthrough post-installation. Lack of clear details on what the extra parts were for. Inaccurate information provided post-installation. The tech told me the strap was to tie down my surfboard and attach the tie down to the rear of the vehicle. THIS IS INCORRECT. When you're driving the wind comes from the front of the vehicle. You tie down surfboards to the front of the vehicle so it doesn't fly off on the freeway. There is no reason to tie it down...
