This was one of our stops during a Sarasota vacation. We booked a guided tour with 2 tandem kayaks through iKayak and Orion was our tour guide. We didnt have any kayak experience prior. Orion made sure to go over the basics & clearly communicated the techniques of paddling so well, that even my 4 & 5 year old boys understood and were helping with the paddling once in the water. We were very much impressed with all the wildlife we spotted, there were giant jellyfish, birds that were diving for food & swimming right along our kayaks. It was so cool. And then we spotted manatees. They were very close & one came up right in front of our kayak. The mangrove tunnels were pretty cool, along with all the little crabs. It was quite an experience & it's been the highlight of conversation in our family for the last few days. Orion was very knowledgeable & encouraged questions and conversation. The tour took a little bit over 2 hrs and I was pleasantly surprised how our 2 boys were engaged pretty much the whole time. We would def come back again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience & memory.

Great place to paddle! Mangrove tunnels are fun to weave through. The marked tunnels (numbered) seem to be wider and easy to navigate, while some of the side tunnels have really low clearance (like .. lay down flat on a paddle board low). It can be eerily quiet and peaceful at the same time. The currents were not so strong that it was hard to paddle against them. The park itself has rentals set up, but there was also plenty of space to inflate my board. When you paddle out from the launch area, if you go to the right, you will head directly to the tunnels, and if you go to the left, you will be heading towards St. Armands. Watch out for jumping fish and stalker-ducks .. they pop up right next to you when in the more open water. Awesome day.

Our family has a fantastic day at the beach here.

We arrived around 9ish am and got a nice spot at the beach and really took advantage of the many shells that were ashore.

There’s quite a lot of parking space so if you don’t want to arrive early to secure a spot, you won’t have to.

This park also has a variety of amenities; showers, kayak launch, bathrooms, kids playground, picnic tables, nature trail.

The day of our visit, the water was super clear and it was the perfect weather for boating so they were pretty much everywhere, oh and jet skis too.

Overall, it’s a beautiful beach and great park to spend all day. Highly...
