Lido Beach Pool & Pavilion — Attraction in Sarasota

Is there a shower there for women to use? You can use the restroom, pool shower, and beach shower, but little privacy. New guard on duty had just moved here and he was super helpful and spoke english.😊 Red tide awful therefore they allowed that day free pool use. The beach at park was torn up somewhat. So very much beach corosion each year. FIX IT LIDO AND DON'T TRY TO MAKE A COST TO VISIT OUR BEACHES. Amazed they have not rebuilt like siesta. I heard plans. The park attendents at the end either city or county were of no help when my beach chair was STOLEN because of course they were all hispanic and allegedly spoke no english. I put it out on the farthest end to watch sunset and went back...gone. They should not lock the park gate and restrict people or ever charge for parking which they don't yet. After all if you were born and raised in this city no one should dictate when you enjoy the area. The gate was locked not sure exact time but totally inappropriate. People are not stupid and know if the red tide is too much and they won't visit but don't block off because a goverment body...

For some unknown reason my review was deleted. I'm a local reviewer. And I see and post it as it is. The pool though nice is never conveniently open for public access (10:00 am till 4:45 pm Wednesday-sunday). I had no idea of this lap thing. But apparently it is something to make a note of- and that the visitors are also making note of. Restaurants are overpriced for what you get . Yes it's the island and they want to gauge the visitor-I know the game. In the early mornings there are so many homeless and rats around. I would reconsider eating at pavilion beforehand. And the seats and chairs are for the patrons of the restaurants only ????? I've never seen anyone being kicked out of tables but the signs are all over. I come to run at the beach because living 3 miles away and being overwhelmingly taxed for living here I can and will rightfully do so. But those are my bits of knowledge of this place that I come to...

This place is a GEM for lap pool swimmers! I was staying in one of the hotels on Lido and looked up a place to swim laps while visiting. I knew this pool was there but never used it since my accommodations always had pools. Wanting to swim laps, I discovered this awesome facility. Yes, the hours are limited but it’s easy to plan around them when wanting a workout. The guards are so wonderful and welcoming. The pool itself is nothing fancy but very clean and well-maintained. In today’s world, where everything is so rushed and pricey, I was so grateful to have a fantastic spot to get in a nice workout, all for $4. (You must pay per credit card and create an account online). Thank you to the quirky, stellar staff for making my Sarasota vacation that...
