My partner and I stayed at Casa Limonada in March 2023 for a long weekend while in town for a wedding. It was very comfortable, the location was great, and Gur was so welcoming & helpful! The price was also competitive for the area. We’re so glad we stayed at Casa Limonada instead of a chain hotel downtown or an Airbnb.
The complex was easy to find, nestled in a quiet residential street. It felt very safe, even at night. It is easy to walk to St Armands Circle. We really appreciated the free Sarasota Bay Runner Trolley for getting between Lido Key & downtown! Be sure to download the app so you can track the trolley.
We stayed in the Agave Suite (#9) - please see my photos and videos. Check-in was a breeze; be sure to read the arrival email in full. We loved the complimentary treats that were waiting for us in the fridge!
The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious with pleasant, beachy decor and good sunlight. Everything was exactly as pictured & described on the website.
The king bed was wonderful! My partner and I have opposite mattress preferences, but we both slept great here! We appreciated the smart TV so we could log into our streaming services.
The bathroom was modern and well-maintained. The shower was a little narrow but perfectly adequate for us; it might be cramped for larger people though. The bathroom fan was pretty weak.
The generously-sized closet & dressing area (with full length mirror) made it convenient to get ready. Different towels are provided for the bathroom and the beach. There were a good number of hooks for towels and wet swimwear, both inside & outside. The outdoor shower was also great, and the beach supplies were awesome!
The kitchen was well-appointed for basic cooking. There is a Whole Foods downtown (easily accessible from the Trolley) if you want to get groceries. We recommend grabbing some bottled water, as the tap water in Florida isn’t the best.
The room was quiet, with minimal noise from outside. The AC and ceiling fan worked well. There were curtains & pull-down shades for the windows & doors. It would be nice to have blinds - more privacy, but still letting sunlight in. We also recommend bringing some slippers or house shoes for the hard floors.
There were a ton of options for outdoor seating, some with sun covers - lots of tables & chairs, patio couches, hammocks, a picnic table, and lounge chairs around a fire pit.
Unfortunately our trip coincided with the end of a Red Tide. However, we really appreciated that Gur communicated with us about this in advance! We were still able to enjoy a couple of (careful) walks on the beach, which really is beautiful!
Check-out was also easy, with very reasonable check-out procedures (strip the bed, gather towels & bedding, wash any dishes you used, take out your trash). Gur was happy to accommodate us when we asked to store our luggage at the hotel for a few hours beyond check-out, which was so helpful!
We did have one minor issue after our stay, but we were able to resolve it. When we got home from our trip, my partner & I realized that ALL of our belongings smelled strongly of mildew. Suitcases, shoes, purses, books, swimsuits, clothes - everything we had in the hotel room. We did notice a smell when we first arrived, but it sorta just smelled like the beach, so we didn’t think anything of it until we got home. Fortunately though, we were able to get the smell out of everything. We laundered all our clothes in hot water (plus white vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser), had our formal attire dry cleaned, and allowed our bags, shoes, & other belongings to air out in a hallway for about a week. I assume mildew is probably a very common issue in Florida. I’m not sure if this issue is unique to the Agave Suite or if the whole complex has similar issues. But because we were able to remedy the issue, we do still recommend Casa Limonada. However, this might not be the best accommodation for anyone with respiratory conditions or allergies, and I wouldn’t suggest bringing anything with you that cannot be...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay at Casa Limonada! We stayed in the Blue Lime room, and it was hands down one of the cleanest places we’ve ever stayed, even compared to higher-end hotels. Everything was modern, cute, and thoughtfully updated, nothing about it felt dated or run-down. The opposite of you typically think when you hear 'motel'!
So many helpful extras were provided like beach towels, a cart to take to the beach with chairs and an umbrella, plus toiletries. It made packing and beach days super easy. There were also paddle boards, bikes, and pool floats available for guests, which we didn’t end up using but really appreciated having as an option. A washer and dryer with detergent was also available and free to use, which was such a helpful amenity. Parking was never an issue, and the kitchenette in our room was really convenient with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, microwave, mini fridge, and a two burner cooktop provided.
The AC worked surprisingly well (a must in Florida!), and the outdoor shower was such a nice amenity after long days at the beach.
The location couldn’t have been better; just a quick 2 minute walk to the beach, pool, and the pavilion (which had surprisingly good food). We also liked being so close to shopping and restaurants at St. Armands Circle, while still feeling like we were in a quiet and safe area.
The owner, Gur, was extremely kind and welcoming. He even upgraded us to a bigger room without us asking when we extended our stay. The common areas were nice and inviting, and we never once had a cold shower, which is always a bonus!
If you’re looking for a very clean, stylish, and perfectly-located place to stay near the beach, Casa Limonada is it. We cannot wait...
Read moreOmg where do I start This place is sooooo adorable. The rooms are super modern I’m assuming that the decor is from IKEA very well put together. The owner Gur is so friendly. He goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is a good one. He made us fresh lemonade and a delicious desert. He also left us a cart with chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach which is a 30 second walk away. We loved it so much we are planning our next family trip already. This is definitely waaaayy better then staying at a resort. What you would pay for a small room you are getting an entire apartment. My mom and family stood in the 2 bedroom cottage and it was HUMONGOUS with plenty of options to sleep 6-7 people. It had a front yard that we enjoyed a night dinner outside. I stood in the one bedroom and it was the cutest thing ever. I loved the fact it had a shower outside by our back door that was WARM to take off all the sand before you go inside. One thing that made me love the owner even more was I left a necklace that had my sons thumbprint on it who passed away a few months ago in the room I was so worried it was gone. I reached out to Gur and he responded quickly and said he will mail it right away. I offered to reimburse him and he said not to worry it was his pleasure to send it ..... I was so grateful.....Shows the type of people you are dealing with. It was a great stay I highly recommended this place you will not be disappointed and if you are something is wrong...
