Forsyth Park Inn — Attraction in Savannah

RUN – DON’T STAY AT THIS INN. Don’t let the pretty pictures on their website fool you. This Inn is probably the filthiest place I have ever stayed at. I honestly don’t understand how its ratings are so high, especially since speaking with the other guests and hearing that they had the same complaints about cleanliness that I had. So why do I think this place is a place no one should be staying at? To begin, when we were shown to our room by the manager (not the owner – the Inn is owned by a group of investors which may explain why no one seems to care about the condition of the Inn), I noticed something on the floor in the bathroom that looked very much like bunched up toilet paper with feces on it. I pointed at it and asked the manager what that was. He sheepishly picked it up and took it out with him, never thinking to send someone up to clean the floor. We had to ask ourselves. A little while after asking, housekeeping came with a white washcloth soaked in bleach. She started cleaning the floor and then used the same rag (which was now black) to wipe down the toilet seat. Really??? Second, the bathtub, which was one of those old claw-footed ones was either very dirty or so old and worn that it was no longer “quaint”. I used a hand towel to stand on, when I took a shower, as I was not about to stand on whatever that was. There was a long black “drip” of something on the wall behind the bathroom door. There was obviously a leak in this room (we were in Room #6 which is on the upper floor) as there was substantial mold in one corner of the ceiling in the bedroom as well as on the bathroom ceiling. The baseboards were filthy – laden with dust and dirt. The telephone in the room had dirt (and someone else’s hair) on the keypad. Breakfast was served by the same woman who used the washcloth to “clean” the bathroom floor and then used it on the toilet seat. If that’s her idea of hygienic cleaning, then the idea that she was handling food made me cringe. Speaking of food, even that looked dirty! Scrambled eggs that looked more brown than yellow (needless to say, we skipped breakfast on our 2nd day). And the dining room! Dirt & dust on the baseboards and around the edges of the room. Oh, and a dead fly, too. On our 2nd morning (which gratefully was our last morning), my husband, who apparently didn’t believe me when I said that the washcloth was black when housekeeping “cleaned” the floor, decided to see for himself. Guess what? Still black. Clearly, the owners bought the place in the 1980’s and fixed it up, took beautiful pictures, and then let the Inn go to pot. AND, this cost us about $240 a night. My husband and I got married April 15, 2023 in the courtyard of the Inn. When I tell you that everything was perfect...it truly was. Wedding planning is one of the most stressful times in a brides life but Bobbie Jo truly took all the stress off of me and the entire wedding was perfect. Bobbie Jo made sure everything was finished and in place before we even stayed the night there. The staff at the Inn were so incredibly nice and helpful, the room was something out of a fairytale and so picturesque, the food...THE FOOD, to die for. It is the perfect location for a small, intimate wedding with the park literally right across the street for photos. The Inn, itself, accommodated everyone who came and was so beautiful. I talk about it to everyone and all my friends who are getting married, I make sure to mention Forsyth Park Inn. You really can't go wrong with this choice. You don't have to worry about the cake, flowers, officiant, or anything that a bride or groom would usually obsess over because it's all included with the price. You get to take a breather the night before and day of because you're already at the venue and don't have to rush to get ready. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend getting married here. Not only that, just stay here as a stay-cation or for one night, it's worth it. Everyone is so incredibly nice and i still cant get over the food.

We have beautiful memories from this place and it holds such a special part of our hearts. It's worth it. To be so stress-free on my wedding day and to only worry about if I was gonna trip in my heels from my knees shaking from nerves was, actually, such a blessing. Bobbie Jo takes on so much of the work that she is a mastermind to all of it. She makes it look effortless while you make sure your holding the bouquet at the right height. She was such a pleasure to work with and a blessing to my husband and I. I can not thank her enough for constantly being in contact with us, making sure I was 100% on the final decisions, and making our wedding so beautiful. She's incredible.

Go ahead and check the venue, officiant, flowers, cake, and your stay off your list, because this Inn has you covered. And congratulations to all the future...

My fiancé and I enjoyed our stay at the Inn. We were fortunate enough to still be able to enter through the front door after our airline fiasco forced us to arrive after hours.

The decor inside and out is gorgeous and we have gushed about it to all of our friends and family. The staff was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Twice we were referred to Leoci's Italian restaurant for lunch as well as 700 Drayton for dinner; both delicious establishments.

We only had 3 cons during our stay was the amount of morning light that shone through the windows and caused me to wake earlier than preferred (I tend to favor black out curtains). I will freely admit the fact that I am a coffee snob and that the coffee served during the Inn's breakfast times was rather weak and tasteless, I would not recommend it to anyone who enjoys quality in their coffee. Lastly, we stayed in room 2 which happens to be on the main level of the Inn and our door was directly adjacent to their ice machine so not only was I woken up by a lighter than preferred room, but you can hear the voices of their staff in the hallway, their footsteps to and from the kitchen and the noisy ice machine operating every morning.

To any who consider staying there, I would suggest a room upstairs away from the staff's morning duties and definitely away from the ice machine.

Aside from those set backs, my fiancé and I enjoyed the medium to smaller portions of free breakfasts that are included. The Inn's portions provided us with appetites to explore the local cuisine.

Finally, we had hoped that some comforts of home had been supplied in our initial situation upon arriving without our bags due to an airline malfunction, such as tooth brushes, tooth paste and conditioner. Also my fiancé attempted to use the supplied hair dryer only to find out it was not operational. At that time, however, we had retrieved our bags where she was thankful she had packed her own.
