I posted a similar review on yelp.
But I will post a shortened review here about my experience shopping around for painting studios for a group of disabled adults in the seattle area.
Unfortunately the owner of this shop chooses not to accept cash in her shop. Only credit or debit cards.
When I told her poor people still use check cashing stores and she didn't know what a check cashing store was.
There are disabled people, children under age 18, people of color who have no access to credit cards or checking accounts.
The owner said to me on the phone if someone is unable to get a credit card or checking account they don't belong in my store if they are struggling financially.
This is a form of elitism. It's unnaceptable.
The city of seattle is proposing an ordinance making cashless businesses illegal in seattle. If passed the 1st fine of violating the ordinance would be $15,000.
There is an art pottery studio in emdonds,Washington amd Bellevue,Washington at crossroads that both accept cash no problem at all.
The owner said to me on the phone if I contact her advanced notice about the group of disabled adults coming to her store with cash and they can't pay by credit card she will make an expection only of they pay in exact change.
In seattle we have alot of haves and have nots.
Yes in seattle there are people who don't drive cars and ride public transportation.
Yes in seattle we have people who aren't privileged enough to have credit cards or checking accounts.
Even if you don't mind paying at this businesses by credit card or debit card maybe the studios in edmonds and crossroads Bellevue are your better bet.
In Lynnwood, edmonds and Bellevue us cash is widely accepted at businesses. Businesses in seattle who chose to not accept cash are sending a message that if you are unable to pay by credit card or debit card you as a person aren't welcome here.
The owner of this shop sounds snobby to me....
Read moreIt’s Mother’s Day, so I know I’m not the only person either the brilliant idea to paint ceramics with their kid. I call in advance and there’s no wait. They won’t take reservations in advance, so by the time I do the 30 minute drive across town, they’re full with ten people ahead of us on the waitlist. They said it’ll be a 1.5 to 1.75 hour wait to seat us. After 1.75 hours we go in and they say they’re are still six reservations ahead of us but it will only be another 30 min or so. I’m questioning how she’s estimating this and Al if there’s a kind of time limit (there is either their birthday parties). Nope, no limit for how long people can stay. The I ask what the size of the parties are ahead of us, thinking since it’s just the two of us we might get a chance of getting seated faster than larger groups. I get told they don’t do that. So even though there are spots open as we look around, they’re not going to fill them. Really frustrating experience. This place is great and very popular but this experience was really disappointing and negative and I think they should rethink their policies to accommodate busier times like weekends...
Read moreWe were left waiting outside in the cold for over two hours without any updates via call or text. Despite checking in every 30 minutes, the staff did not provide any clear information or assistance.
The service we experienced was far from welcoming. The staff appeared to be dismissive and uninterested in assisting us. There was a particularly troubling incident where one of the workers blatantly ignored our presence, which was not only disrespectful but also added to our frustration.
Additionally, it seemed that the staff was selectively attentive, primarily focusing on assisting certain groups of customers, which raised concerns about fair treatment for all patrons.
To add to the disappointment, we were only allowed to enter 30 minutes before the shop’s closing time, leaving us with hardly any time to enjoy the ceramic painting experience we had looked forward to.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as everyone deserves respectful and timely service, irrespective of...
