O Maki Rolls + Teriyaki (Greenwood) — Restaurant in Seattle

My partner & I were on the hunt for chicken katsu curry & the photos here looked good, so we decided to give it a try. I got the curry, he ordered 3 basic rolls. We have Japanese food 1-3 times a week so perhaps our standards a little higher than others, but everything we ordered was awful, down to the green tea. The quality of ingredients is cheap & bottom of the barrel and despite their efforts to make it pretty & look edible, it’s just not. The sushi rice was overcooked, the rolls had way too much rice, the tuna was such terrible quality our stomachs are still gurgling 15 hours later. The curry was somehow chunky & watered down at the same time & the chicken served with it was slimy & inedible. I’d give them a break if they charged low end prices, but it was $70 for 2 people & I can think of 6382 other places to better spend...

Ordered food to go, the katsu curry and beef sukiyaki our dishes were 85%rice and for the price we paid ($30 total) for each dish I was disappointed it was mostly rice. As we were waiting for our food I watched the two men behind the counter making sushi rolls. I have to say what I witness truly made me cringe, these so called chef made roll after roll and not once did they change their gloves. Not after touching the cleaning rag I watched them wipe the counter with, not after touching the microwave or the rice maker or anything else that wasn’t food related. At that point what is the use of the gloves if they are touching any surface and then the raw fish and sushi rolls they are preparing. Got delivery through Uber Eats. The food was packed decent and tasted good for what I got, though I have my issues. Would have liked a cup of soy sauce or one to to put the soy sauce packets I received in though.

I ordered a Cucumber Roll and the Musubi Roll. The cucumber roll was weird, I just had a huge chunk of cucumber in it instead of thin julienned strips. The Musubi Roll was tasty, but the menu and photo on ubereats both show that it is supposed to have Romaine Lettuce in it, which mine also did not have. Would’ve enjoyed the fresh crunch with the spam and tamago. See my photo for reference on both rolls.
