Still newish to Seattle I had not been in this Library branch. Realizing it was very close to the grocery store I droped by to return some books.
Something told me from the outside that this was a Carnegie Library! Once inside I chatted with a librarian who confirmed this and her love of the history and the architecture showed. Truly enjoyed taking a detour just to drop off a few books. Will return!
Wonderful and friendly staff, quiet and peaceful with computer stations, a children's section and all that we love about libraries!

Read moreI've been working towards using this library more than going to a coffee shop. It's a nice relaxed place. Staff are generally friendly.
And to those making comments about homeless people utilizing the library: it's a public space. That's all there is to it. Having access to information and knowledge is not exclusive to people who are well off. I wouldn't be too quick to dock stars to a space that is accommodating of those in need. I would rather support this library than go to another place that kicks homeless people out just because they are making others "uncomfortable." I would honestly reevaluate...

While I was at the library there were several unrelated instances of my train of thought being interrupted by their, in my opinion, overzealous policing of the library. They seem like nice people, as other reviews say, but someone involved, perhaps someone on the board, is far too worried about "the rules" versus accommodating the people who come in to use the library.
