Nestled in an unassuming strip of Roosevelt , Amazing Thai is a true hidden gem that serves up some of the most authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine in town. This family-owned and operated eatery may be small and unassuming from the outside, but step inside, and you'll be transported straight to the bustling streets of Bangkok. The menu is a love letter to traditional Thai cooking, with each dish meticulously crafted using fresh, high-quality ingredients and time-honored recipes passed down through generations. The aromas alone are enough to set your senses alight, with the perfect blend of fragrant herbs, spices, and aromatics wafting through the air. On our latest visit, we indulged in two of their signature dishes: the Pad Thai and the Red Curry Chicken, both served with a generous portion of perfectly cooked jasmine rice. The Pad Thai was a revelation – a harmonious balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors, with perfectly cooked rice noodles, tender chicken, crunchy bean sprouts, and a sprinkling of crushed peanuts. Each bite was a explosion of textures and tastes, leaving us craving more with every mouthful. The Red Curry Chicken, however, stole the show. This rich, velvety curry was brimming with complex flavors – a masterful blend of coconut milk, red curry paste, and aromatic spices. The tender chicken pieces were cooked to perfection, absorbing the essence of the curry, while the vibrant red hue hinted at the layers of heat and depth that awaited. What truly sets amazing Thai apart is the love and care that goes into each dish. The family takes immense pride in their culinary heritage, and it shows in every bite. From the meticulously prepared ingredients to the perfectly balanced flavors, every aspect of the meal is a testament to their passion for traditional Thai cuisine. While the restaurant itself is a no-frills affair, the warm hospitality and friendly service more than make up for the lack of ambiance. And let's be honest – when the food is this good, who needs fancy decor? Amazing thai has become our go-to spot for weekly takeout, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Whether you're a seasoned Thai food lover or a curious newcomer, this hidden gem is sure to delight your taste buds and leave you craving more. A well-deserved 5...
Read moreI got the Pad See Ew
i found these noodles to be pretty high-level when it comes to thai cuisine i've had lots of pad thai, pad see ew, and pad ki mao in the past, and this place did a fantastic job with their pad see ew
the best part were the noodles - they were large, wide, and incredibly soft and flavorful they served as a blanket to cover all other parts of the dish in a comforting, always there flavor
the entire dish was coated with soy sauce and a very sweet (maybe molasses) add-on I have to say, this was the sweetest thai dish i've had - I know pad see ew is naturally supposed to be sweeter than the other main thai dishes, but this was pretty sweet - it tasted really good though and there was a lot of it
the tofu was fine - it was pretty soft inside. i wish the outside was more crispy - maybe have it fried - but it was still good enough the egg was really good
i found the brocoli to be a little disappointing - it wasn't really tender - as it was instead somewhat hard and required a little bit of force to eat - not as soft as I was expecting
The spice part of this meal was definitely a letdown. I ordered 4 stars, but what I got had barely even a hint of spice Like I said, I get that pad see ew is naturally sweeter, but when I ask for 4/5 stars, there needs to be extra spice added compared to a normal 4 star spice dish in order to compensate for that. Pretty much no spice whatsoever
The portion size was pretty good - for roughly 13 dollars, I got a pretty large plate that kept me full.
overall, really strong flavor profile with good ingredients, but missing the spice necessary for the top...
Read moreWhat a wonderful experience. I am torn between the urge to gatekeep this little family restaurant and to share my love for it, because it deserves so much love.
The people are warm and friendly and service is perfect. It is ideal that they are small and should be kept that way, as the kitchen is very small and no doubt too many orders would bring much stress.
I ordered the Panang curry, low spiciness. It was sweet, savory, creamy, and a perfect match to the fluffy Basmati rice. It was delicious whether mixed, whether a sauce for the meat you choose, or whether scooped off the plate. An absolute delight. Even the bites of chicken were flavorful; the dish showed absolute mastery! (I also had other dishes to go, but I won't discuss those here as they were not my main course.)
Their process for taking to-go orders is quite interesting. If you call ahead of time, be prepared to wait inside at the counter for a little while they put the finishing touches on your food, while the man at the counter socializes with you, making sure you feel welcome. You really do get the best taste for that extra effort.
Prices are somehow kept low relative to everything else I've experienced of this quality.
I'm not from Seattle - LA - so I was extremely surprised to find such a perfect restaurant up here, one that beats out all the other restaurants I've tried in expensive LA. If you are local to Seattle I urge you to come - not too often of...
