I've been living in Washington my entire life and have tried out my fair share of two block haircuts, middle parts, and tight perms. What I've noticed in the past decade is that modern Asian hairstyles have become in-fashion, yet finding people with the expertise to cut them is difficult.

Jay was the first to cut my hair and I was impressed beyond imagination. He was able to modernize and improve upon a picture of a wavy undercut hairstyle I showed him with a cut and digital perm. I can say this is the highest quality, most talented hair studio I've ever been to!

All of the staff members are not only talented, but they're also kind, enthusiastic, and respectful. They're just as serious about making my hair look good as I am myself. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is a slight language barrier but I didn't run into any problems with communication. Just as with any hair studio, it'll be a more satisfying experience for you if you go in knowing generally what you want while communicating your preferences throughout the process. These guys are phenomenal. I wanted a drastic, potentially disastrous change— the sort of thing a lot of stylists would try to talk you out of. These guys made it happen. They got my fine, curly, weak caucasian hair as close to my reference pics as it was physically possible to do.

There were three guys working on my color at different times; they were all so nice, and very focused and skilled. They offered me a giant selection of snacks, the hair-washing stations are super luxe and comfy, the music was cool, and the whole experience was so soothing I felt like I was floating.

Deo (spelling?) did my cut. He was so kind and funny, and a wizard with the scissors. He was clear on the references and responsive to my input; I don’t think I’ve ever had a stylist be so completely on the same page. I knew what I wished for but was aware of the limitations of my hair— so I was astonished when I saw how beautifully it turned out.
