ALERT!! DON'T COME! TERRIBLE DUMPLINGS!!
This restaurant has disappointed me three times!
First time: When they were still in Aurora, a few of us went there, and the dumplings tasted bad. Some of us even got food poisoning afterward. It went straight to our blacklist.
Second time: They changed the name and moved to Green Lake. I went there without realizing it was the same restaurant. As soon as I saw the menu, I had my suspicions, but I decided to give it another chance. The food was slightly better, but still nothing impressive. The pork was pinkish and tasted strange, and I didn't like the texture of the buns. I decided not to come back again.
Third time: Why did I go for a third time? I wasn’t aware it was the same place. Two friends invited me to a "NEW" dumpling house in the U-District, and we didn’t realize it was Ling until we arrived. Since two friends hadn't tried it before, we decided to give it another chance. This was a huge mistake. The food was TERRIBLE. The soup dumplings were spoiled, tasting sour and gross. Worst of all, the manager denied that the dumplings were bad, claiming there was too much vinegar in the filling and blaming their Mexican chefs, saying they didn't know how to make dumplings correctly. We ended up canceling the whole order and left without eating anything.
This place is simply terrible. They consistently provide awful dumplings and low-quality food. I have no idea how this chain...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT. I can no longer recommend this place after getting takeout from here multiple times starting from when they first opened as they are very close to me. Their menu items are hit or miss with the highlights being their pan friend dumplings and buns, garlic string beans, and wontons and their misses being their soup dumplings, chicken fried noodles, and stir fried egg with tomato noodles (this came as a noodle soup despite being listed as a stir fried noodle dish and came with very little egg???). However, even with the "highlights," their menu items are carried by their signature dumpling sauce. Their sauce is the biggest highlight but there is now a hard limit of 2 small sauce containers per takeout order, no many how many items in the order. I had a 6 item pick up order for 3 people and was refused when I asked for extra sauce as we 6 items and was "shooed" away with the hand motion and all by the lady working the counter. Their items are generally mediocre compared with their price and without enough sauce I cannot recommend this place. There are much better dumpling and noodle spots around the area like North and Dumpling the Noodle. Don't be fooled by the reviews, many are left over from Broadfork, the previous restaurant at...
Read moreIam not going to downstar cause it just opened, and they have time to work out the kinks. There is another location in greenlake apparently. This is their 2nd location. This location used to be broadfork cafe and it still shows. All the online ordering apps still show broad fork cafe offerings. The menu that they have printed is for the greenlake location including the phone number. Imagine my suprise when i called for a pick up and went to new location to pick up and realized when they said they never got a call in order. Not everything on the menu available at this location. So no hot and sour soup. Please update menus online. Get rid of all broadfork memorabilia still tacked on the walls. Get a separate menu for each location with each menu offerings and updated phone numbers.
I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was on par with panda express or what you can get at the safeway hot deli counter with big ole chunks of still raw green onions and raw green bell peppers........maybe the dumplings are where its at but i won't be trying again for a couple of months till they work out their marketing issues. Good to go packaging the reusable bag is...
