This is my first time going to Good Medicine and let me tell you, it is an absolute gem! Troy greeted me at the door and is so welcoming and friendly.
They have a very convenient online booking system which I appreciated as I could see all available times and pick a masseuse.
When you enter, there is a sign telling you to speak quietly inside since other clients are receiving their treatments. I personally found the quietness and soft voices calming. Think of it like entering a meditation retreat. There is also soft, meditative music playing overhead. At one point I thought I heard singing bowls, which adds another level of relaxation and healing to your body. As someone who values sound therapy, it is another detail that takes this place to another level. Each massage room area is separated by nordic inspired partitions that I found added to the peaceful and meditative atmosphere.
They also have a clean restroom that I used before my massage. It had a hook on the door which was perfect for my coat and purse. I may be a weirdo for caring, but the hook matters! Ladies, tell me you have never gone into a restroom with no hooks and you are desperately trying to hook your purse it to the toilet dispenser or drape your jacket over the gap between the door and post? It's annoying, so yes...bonus points for a clean restroom with a hook!
Once in your massage room, there is a coat stand where you can hang all your clothes with ease. The sheets and covering on the massage bed felt luxurious against the skin.
I had Gina for my massage. She is incredible. She did a brief consult with me to determine if I had any recent injuries she should know about, what focus areas (me- shoulders) and made sure to know what I was comfortable with (like if my face and scalp/hair/head were okay to touch).
If you are on the fence with getting a massage that includes your face and scalp, DO it. It felt amazing. I also added the hot towels which was such a treat...definitely recommend it for a reasonable add-on splurge. Gina used sweet orange essential oil for the massage, it smelled so yummy.
The massage was exactly what I needed. I work at a computer all day and have lots of tension in my shoulders.
Gina is so compassionate, knowledgeable, and skilled. She also gave me some pointers on exercises to stretch my shoulder area since I have a chronic issue with the knots and tightness there. She also gave me a box of water after my massage, which is another thoughtful touch.
Located in Uptown Sedona with plenty of walkable shops to go to afterwards, make this a destination on your next trip to Sedona. You will not be disappointed.
If you are frugal like me, you may feel hesitant on getting a massage in Sedona assuming any massage here is marked up for at least double what you can get elsewhere near home. That is not the case for Good Medicine on their massages. The value, skill, and level of care involved in a 60 minute massage is priced right. They would compete with any expensive day spa retreat spot massage without the hefty price tag and give you more value for your money. Also, I feel there is almost a sports medicine or physical therapy-like knowledge and approach to Gina's massage and pointers for me to do at home. My boyfriend goes to pt and I'm going to show him the exercise that Gina taught me that is new from his current regimen. He too is hunched over a computer all day. He was gone on a business trip and didn't join me this time, but I will most definitely take him to Good Medicine on our next trip to Sedona.
A massage with Gina will be on my personal itinerary anytime I'm...
Read moreI had the incredible fortune of crossing paths with Karen in May during the deepest part of my healing journey when I needed her expertise the most. It felt like the universe guided me to her. After receiving confusing 'chronic' diagnoses and feeling hopeless due to a lack of solutions from other healthcare providers, Karen became the beacon of hope I so desperately needed.
Karen's approach to healing through Acupuncture, Moxibustion, N.I.S. (neurological integration systems), and Cupping has been nothing short of transformative. Her dedication to my well-being is evident in every session, and I've experienced profound improvements in my health and overall quality of life under her care.
What truly sets Karen apart is not only her exceptional skill but also her genuine compassion. She takes the time to understand not just the symptoms but also the person behind them, creating a deeply personalized healing experience. Her wisdom and intuition are unparalleled, and I trust her implicitly.
I drive from Phoenix to Sedona for treatments with Karen at Good Medicine and would willingly travel across the world for her treatments. đđ» If you're seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated practitioner who can offer you hope and healing, I wholeheartedly recommend Karen. She has been a true lifeline on my healing journey, and I am immensely grateful for her presence in my...
Read moreIt was my first time in Sedona, and I was looking for a good soothing therapeutic massage to relieve my neck stiffness and lower back pain. I also suffer from scoliosis.
When I arrived for my session, I noticed the studio had a nice calming atmosphere, it was nicely decorated with pleasant aromatherapy and relaxing music playing in the background.
I chose the 60 minute tandem massage. Massage therapists Austin and Samantha first asked me a few questions about what I wanted in a massage, like what my main priorities were. What parts of my body needed work. I appreciated their consideration to provide me with a massage which would benefit my health and wellness. I have to say it has been a really great experience. I would definitely come back to Good Medicine and ask for Austin and Samantha again. Not only did they relieve the stiffness in my neck, they opened up the tightness in my lower back and I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip pain free! I could not believe how good I felt afterward and that the effects from the massage have lasted long after the massage ended.
Austin and Samantha are very professional, good massage therapists and represent "Good Medicine" well. I hope to be back again soon. It was one of the best therapeutic massages I have ever gotten and I have had many different types of massages over the course of my life. Thank You for helping to...
