5.11 — Attraction in Shelby Charter Township

I would just like to say how pleased and satisfied I was with the customer service and the treatment I received from the tactical 5.11 store in Shelby Township Michigan. About 2 years ago before the Michigan store existed I’d purchased some of the clothing while on a trip out in Utah. I wanted to buy more apparel and called the Shelby store in which Mark-the store manager -answered the phone and was so helpful and extremely patient. He helped me try to figure out what kind of style pants I had currently. While still on the phone, he took the time to examine his current merchandise in stock to see if they have that available, and even offered other suggestions of alternate styles that would be comparable. He mentioned an upcoming 20% sale and told me the incentives and sale dates. 2 days later I visited the store (not knowing what Mark looked like) I was immediately greeted at the service counter with a big smile by a gentleman (who I later came to realize was Mark) and his sales associate Victoria. Victoria warmly greeted me with a smile- (Yes, they had their masks on but you could see the smile in their eyes) asked If I needed any assistance. I briefly related my encounter with Mark two days prior, she immediately acknowledged that she was privy to the entire encounter, and gladly led me to the merchandise that I was seeking. She offered suggestions answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable about the products etc. Mark later joined our conversation introduced himself and made himself available. In the end I walked out with 5 pairs of pants when I only intended purchasing only 2.. Why did I take the time to relate this story? Because such gracious customer service, attentiveness, warm knowledgeable friendly service is a rare commodity these days. When you experience it, you recognize it, and yes it’s a true pleasure. I purchased a pair of pants with the promise that if I didn't like them, I could return them without any problems. This was, in fact, a lie. I was not allowed to return them even though I only wore them once. I purchased some other pants online to try them out at the same time with the same understanding that I would be able to try and return if they didn't work out. They did not work out. I was hoping to find the perfect pair of pants from 511. I had high hopes, but it seems my relationship with them is finished. I will not tolerate dishonesty. They removed my review on their website. I came here to check the sling bags I've seen online, particularly the Moab. Since I was in the area, it made sense to drop by.

Scott showed me the sling bags they had and it was just like on the 5.11 web site. He took the time to show me the features in several bags and I ended up going with the Moab I was originally interested in. It's also supposed to be their best seller.

Looking around the shop, while it doesn't look that big from outside they seem to stock the entire 5.11 product lineup.
