The Vitamin Shoppe — Local services in Shelby Charter Township

I went to this store Tuesday night around 7:15pm. When I entered the store neither Susan or Jake greeted me but I assumed it was because they both had customers so I dismissed the lack of acknowledgement. I started a line between the two cashiers and still no acknowledgement. Other customers began to enter the store behind me and they were greeted and Susan even took a moment to help a customer locate an item while she still had her other customer at the counter, but still no acknowledgement from either employee. A few other customers formed a line behind Jake's customer and that's when Susan turned to those customers (which were too the right of me) and explained to them that herself and Jake would be right with them. This where I then put the item I had back down where I got it and proceeded to leave the store, Susan then said oh no Ms. I see you I know your next I told her that's ok and have a great night. I called back to the store for their names and the store manager's name and Susan began to tell me how she tried to help me. I told her that her and Jake's actions could have been perceived a certain way being that I was the only black person in the store. She told me that all of her best friends are black and she is offended that I felt that way and I am just trying to make her life hell and someone passed away in her life and etc.... I wanted was a store manager's name but she is on bereavement so I could not have her name and she would not give me the district manager's name. I was at the vitamin shop earlier today. On hall road, I'm a regular customer there and know most of the personnel. I went in today to purchase Celsius energy drinks because they were on sale for a dollar. When I got to the counter, I had 6 of them and when I tried to add 2 more, the manager came up and said there was a 6 can limit. And also made some comment about me coming back tomorrow.If I wanted more. The person ringing me up apologized for the manager's comments and I said no big deal. I'm not going to publicly post what the person ringing me up said because I don't want any retaliation coming to them from management. I ended up calling another store then made a few more calls and actually reached someone over their head who confirmed that there was a 12 can maximum, but if I wanted more, I could always do another transaction on the spot. I don't know what her deal was.But if you didn't want to come to work or have some issues, then you should have left them where they were. I frequent the store on hall road and have had nothing but good experiences there.Let's hope it continues, and this was...

I was @ The Vitamin Shoppe yesterday, bought what needed and went out to my car and it was dead. There were 3 young workers there 2 women I went back in to ask about jumper cables & both women checked their cars. Found jumper cables but none of 3 us knew how to use them. The gentle came out to my car and got it started. As I started to drive away it died again. He moved his car back in front of mine jumped it again it started then then died. He pushed my car back into a parking place. I called a tow truck. While I was waiting the gentleman brought me a bottle of cold water, they allowed me to use their non- public bathroom. Still waiting in the heat, 1 of them came out and offered to get me a chair in the cool of the store. They went far above and beyond to help me stay healthy in the heat & in the distress of the moment. I highly recommend shopping at this store...they go above and beyond to help their customers.
