It's ok. They have a lot of stuff, like they always do. But it's getting harder to find good deals there. Their 8" craft mirrors are $5/each and I was able to get a dozen of them on Amazon for $23. Would have cost $60 to get the same quantity, same size there. Their plastic party tablecloths are more expensive than Wal-Mart. Much of their cheaper inventory vac can be found at Dollar Tree or online at places like dollartree.com or orientaltrading.com. They need to research their wholesale costs and possibly find new suppliers because I could find a good bit of their stock at wholesale cost online and mark it up 20%, and the price be cheaper than what it is now. Considering how easy it for the general person to buy wholesale online, without buying in bulk or having minimum order amounts, and how cheap you can find stuff on Amazon with free shipping if you have Prime, it doesn't make sense to pay more for the same item. I don't have any personal issues with Wilson's, I've been going there off and on since I was a kid. But I feel like now they're mostly living off their reputation of having cheap prices and most of their customers are either looking for something last minute and willing to pay more or don't know they can get it cheaper online if they know how/where to look. Just my personal opinion based on my most recent trip there a...
Read moreWent for the 1st time today to check it out. They have a massive sign that says "5¢ - $1.00" don't get excited, that is not the case. It's just old signage. Many of the items in there you can get cheaper at Walmart or Dollar Tree. Other items, however, are a very good deal. Where they really shine is the variety and selection of goods. They have way better quality crafting supplies than a dollar store, a pretty legitimate DIY / hardwares section. They have everything from seasonal holiday and home decor to sewing & knitting supplies to costumes, faux hair peices, whacky candies etc. The inventory is just all over the place. If you need something kind of niche in a pinch and need it faster than ordering online allows, I would not be surprised if this place has it. There's so much stuff in there, I can see it being a fun outing just to cruise the aisles for random things you don't know you need and an absolute life saver if you're throwing a party. An employee did ask me if I needed help finding anything, so they seem helpful and attentive. Really cool little shop,...
Read moreI desperately needed a wooden yardstick for work - these are harder to find than you would imagine. If you've been into Wilson's, you know it is absolutely crammed full of an amazing assortment of things - if you haven't been then you are truly missing out! Let me get to the point here, so I needed said yardstick and it seemed like Wilson's would be a good place to get one; I decided to call ahead just in case they did actually know if they have any. I wouldn't have blamed them if they weren't sure - as I said - lots of stuff! The guy who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful, he told me they had several types even! Sure enough, when I got there I asked one of the other associates where the yardsticks were and she pointed me right to them! Such a very pleasant experience...the only negative was that I was in a hurry and couldn't wander :( This is a great store -...
