I was out for a walk with my partner and my best friend during a brief stop in Solvang. We stumbled upon Hans Christian Andersen Park with pastries in our bellies and hope in our eyes. At first we were delighted to see a shady, grassy space to rest in -- but then I heard the sweet, sweet sound of skateboards on concrete. I went back to the van to fetch my Moxi Lolly roller skates (never leave home without them) and returned to the skate park. My timing was perfect -- the two skater dudes were leaving and I had the whole place to myself. This was great for me because this park includes some fun-n-funky bowls, and as a relatively new park skater I'm still learning to skate their wave-like curves.
