Crawford Family Wines — Attraction in Solvang

We were walking around Solvang tonight looking at Christmas lights and saw Crawford Family Wines. We arrived as they were about to close but Mark still welcomed us in. My wife and I ended up staying a good 30-45 minutes as Mark led us through his wines. I am a former tasting room and wine club manager in the Paso area and to this day I can’t help looking at wines, personnel, facility and certainly, if privileged to meet, winemakers as if I was still in the business. Sometimes that’s not a good thing but tonight’s experience was all very positive. Wines were great and I can’t say enough about Mark. He was very informative and enthusiastic about his wines and he puts out a great relaxed vibe. Someone that you would want to have a beer or glass of wine with and just hang out. We ended up buying 3 bottles and joining the wine club....

My husband and I popped in to the tasting room over the weekend to share a quick tasting and was greeted by the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable McKayla. She shared with us about the family heritage of the winery and details of tasting notes and wine production from vine to glass. We thoroughly enjoyed what we tasted and left with a lovely 2018 Grenache from the winery library with the encouragement to “burn the expensive candles and drink the nice wine”. So here we sit, on a Wednesday night after our 3 kids are in bed, drinking the 2018 wine library Grenache paired with a home cooked meal and a good movie. 10/10...

Favorite winery in Solvang. Great service and the red wines are absolutely amazing. We brought home a few bottles and will definitely go back next time we are in town. Dog friendly, which we love, and it's right next door to a cheese shop. You can go in and get a cheese plate and have both the wine and cheese brought out to you at the same table. I'd highly recommend this winery to anyone...
