I was happy to see Chuck Williams get his old house back...the beginning of a major enterprise while he was still alive. I was trained for a Management position in the Williams- Sonoma Corporation at their store in Palo Alto in the early 80's & then opened their only freestanding division "Gardener's Eden", which went in the Town & Country Shopping Center & they moved the Williams- Sonoma store over to the big new shopping mall. I loved working at Gardener's Eden but enjoyed it less when they brought a set designer on board & had things changed a lot with the goal being for all the stores being "cookie cutters" of one another...it takes employee's creativity away from them . If someone doesn't have a good eye for display the District Mngr. could help & teach. I was lucky at Gardener's Eden because the way the store was designed there couldn't be too much of that nonsense. Unfortinately, even though I came in with higher sales than projected after a few yrs Corp made decision that despite newspaper & magazines articles stating that gardening was the #1 avocation/pastime in country to close"Gardener's Eden" To get back to Williams- Sonoma I find the prices exorbitant esp the"classics". I don't shop there anymore & it's a shame as I was so excited to see it come...

Read moreI purchased several items from them, my most recent being a large Espro French Press from their online website. I returned it via UPS because the base was loose/uneven. The website gives you the option to return items for a complete refund or have it replaced. I opted for the latter. I called Williams-Sonoma three weeks later to inquire about the replacement, and they said that they did not receive my order, even when I gave them the original order number along with the reference number for the return. Do not shop on their online store and pay cash in store if you can. But ultimately, I suggest that you avoid shopping at their...
