⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Perfect Venue for Any Celebration!

We recently hosted my wife’s 70th birthday party at the South Lyon Theater, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! The venue was perfect — clean, spacious, and full of character. We rented it for four hours and appreciated the extra hour split between setup and cleanup. It worked out beautifully.

The theater is a fantastic choice for just about any type of event — from birthdays (like ours) to graduations, weddings, or even a celebration of life. The massive big screen made it easy to cast videos and photo slideshows, and the setup was incredibly simple.

One of the most unique and charming features is the option to put a custom message on the marquee — a special touch that made the day even more memorable. Our grandkids also surprised their grandmother with handmade posters that fit perfectly in the old-fashioned display cases outside, just like the movie posters of the past. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch that made the day extra special.

The venue is kind of like a bed and breakfast — you get it as-is and leave it as you found it (or better). They offer many à la carte options like tables, linens, chairs, chair covers, and serving tables, so you can customize it to your needs. Plus, there’s still some of the original theater seating available, which worked well for our larger group.

Great Experience with South Lyon Theatre

Huge thank you to the owners and staff of the South Lyon Theatre.

Beautifully restored and renovated turn of the century theatre. Now a flexible venue that provides plush seating on the upper tier with acessable ramp down to a level ballroom type floor that can be set up for dancing and dining for about 60 adults.

The theater has a screen for audio and video presentations. An additional small PA with microphones for your use.

The Owner, David and his wife are enthusiastic supporters of thier clients desires. No food preparation or drink service.

The do allow you to bring your own drinks and food or catering service. We set up and staffed our own bar and had Zingermans of AnnArbor provide food services. They were amazing as well.

David customized the Exterior Marqee with a birthday greeting for my mothers 90th Birthday Day. 60 Adults and several children attended and all enjoyed.

What a find! I highly recommend using this gem of a facility for any fun business or family gathering. We had our son’s and bride to be’s wedding shower there this past weekend. The South Lyon Theater owners Debra and David were fantastic to work with; very responsive to emails and calls, have tech set up for easy use, were incredibly accommodating with requests and offered great suggestions to make our event the best. Venue is spotless, beautifully decorated, had great screen and sound quality that was easy to use, very comfortable and reasonably priced. Guests loved the ‘change up’ from the traditional shower experience. People should definitely consider using this gathering space for both family and business group functions! We will be using again....
