A small cute microcosm of years past. We actually stopped because the witches hat brewery across the street wasn’t open yet and we had to occupy ourselves for 30 or so minutes. Now we know where the brewery got its name. We didn’t know this. The depots main building has a beautiful roof that looks like a witches hat, I.e., an inverted cone. In addition, there are other sights, such as a photogenic caboose and Sears mail order chapel. There is also a cool pavilion. The hours said it would be open, but it wasn’t. Read moreI cherished my visit to the Witches Hat Depot. It was a beautiful place with the train station, caboose, church, schoolhouse, and gazebo. Sadly, it seems these old depots are always closed when I visit, but simply being able to experience the exterior and the surroundings was incredibly rewarding. You can sit down with the old timers of the community and talk, hear old stories, see the old photos, and learn about the town that so many people call home.
