We grabbed a couple of drinks on the up-in-the air 3rd level Bar. Cozy. Great view..especially of a beautiful victorian house on the corner. Good service. I love all the extra eye candy this place has including giving us ladies a chandelier in the restroom. I like it when a restaurant goes above and beyond and provides more than food for it's clients like the beautiful wood tables with glitter imbedded in the surface epoxy coating. Food you can get anywhere and no doubt for less. It's got 'special occasion' or 'date night to impress' pricing written all over it. It's easy to miss the classy outside design if you're traveling down the busy street. We hit it up because a store owner around the corner told us it's a must stop kind of place and people in South Lyon were happy to see such a classy place.

Great new restaurant that has opened up in the heart of South Lyon. The 3rd floor bar is very cozy and can be full but never overcrowded with the high ceilings and deliciously made drinks. The food is very good for the most part but we haven’t toured the entire menu just yet. Great place to have some drinks and enjoy some food that has great experience and passions behind it. No dress code here but dressing up a bit helps add to the atmosphere and character of this blossoming little gem. They are a great addition to the South Lyon and look forward to more visits in the future. Chef Randall Kuna

My wife and I met a friend for appetizers desert and drinks last Saturday. We arrived to the upstairs bar at 8:15pm. I order the flourless cheesecake and Arancini Pomodoro which were pretty good. My friend ordered the 1923 drink which was Hendricks, pineapple juice and either sour mix and club soda. He did not like it so he did not finish. My wife got a bottle of Cabernet and our friend had 2 glasses of that. An hour and a half later my wife asked for another bottle of wine and we were met with a rude manager telling her no when we asked why she asked who was driving, my wife said her and pointed to me. I only drank water all night and the server even explained to the manager that I only drank water. We reiterated to her multiple times that we only came for drinks appetizers and dessert and when we continually asked why she was refusing to give us another bottle she kept asking again and again who was driving then said no, then said maybe you can have a glass of wine but not another bottle. 2 people of the 3 of us sharing two bottles of wine over 3-4 hours is not drastic and their was a confirmed designated driver whom only had water. This was our first time here, and we were excited to just have drinks appetizers and dessert and catch up and enjoy the environment. The environment was great. The server was great. However, I’m still appalled and shocked, and even embarrassed at how this woman stood at our table for 15 minutes arguing with us, called herself a manager, and tried to tell us no and then when asked who was driving, and when the server confirmed that I was only drinking water for the few hours that we had been there she still tried to downgrade it from a bottle of wine to a glass of wine then she finally caved in and gave it to us, but it took 20 minutes for the bottle of wine to get to our table and by that time we were the only table in there. I am curious as to why this woman would not give us the service requested. The only thing I can think is it was discrimination because me and my wife are two women and are married, and we were with another gay man… I would love an explanation if somebody would like to reach out to me. I may stop in this week and request to speak to this manager and or the owner because I’m still bothered by this nine days later. I work in the service industry. I am a bartender and a server myself and I was a customer service manager for many years so this should not have happened the way it happened. Where I work this would have never happened...

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the greatest experience at this restaurant due to the server on the third floor in the bar area. The food and atmosphere were absolutely excellent—no complaints there. My only issue was with the service.

When I arrived, I ordered an Elijah Craig Manhattan. However, when I received it, the drink tasted way too strong. I usually prefer my Manhattans on the sweeter side, but this one tasted more like an Old Fashioned—definitely not what I wanted. I politely sent it back and asked for a Coke instead.

The server responded with unnecessary attitude, telling me that they don’t accept drinks back. I explained that I didn’t want the drink anymore because the flavor was off—it may have been the bitters, the sweet vermouth, or lack of simple syrup—but either way, it wasn’t enjoyable, and I just wanted something else. She continued to give me attitude, and from that point on, she was rude throughout the entire meal.

This is a nice establishment, and I do enjoy it overall, but it’s not the best in the world. When I’m paying these kinds of prices, I expect excellent service. If I politely say I don’t like a drink and request something else, I expect the server to accommodate me without the attitude.

Honestly, I felt like there might have been some underlying bias involved. I happen to be a person of color, and looking around, I noticed that the area was predominantly white. I hold my servers and bartenders to a high standard, but I’m always respectful and I always tip at least 20%. I also know what I want and communicate that clearly—I’m not rude, just direct. Maybe she wasn’t used to that, or maybe she’s used to dealing with more passive guests. Regardless, her behavior felt dismissive, and I couldn’t help but wonder if my appearance or demeanor played a part in how I was treated.

She did eventually take the drink off the bill, which I appreciated, but the attitude she gave me throughout the meal is what left a bad taste in my mouth—more than the cocktail ever could. I hope management can speak with her, and if I return, I expect to be treated with respect—no lip, just good service.

Again, the food and atmosphere were wonderful. But the server’s attitude really soured...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dua Vino, and I must say, my taste buds were transported to a realm of pure bliss! The lamb chops and scallops I savored were nothing short of amazing.

The lamb chops at Dua Vino were truly a masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, each bite was a succulent symphony of flavors. The meat was tender, juicy, and expertly seasoned. Along with the fantastic side risotto with the most flavorful artichoke I’ve tasted in my life. The fish was a howcasing the culinary expertise of the chef. It was an unforgettable experience that left me craving more.

Equally impressive were the scallops at Dua Vino. These plump and delicate treasures were seared to perfection, with a beautiful caramelized exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The flavors were wonderfully balanced, and the accompanying sauce elevated the dish to new heights. It was a symphony of taste that delighted my senses.

The presentation of both dishes at Dua Vino was impeccable, showcasing the attention to detail of the culinary team. Each plate was a work of art, visually appealing and inviting. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience, providing a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere that complemented the culinary journey.

The service at Dua Vino was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing recommendations and catering to individual preferences. Their passion for creating a memorable dining experience was evident, and it enhanced the enjoyment of the meal.

In conclusion, my experience with the lamb chops and scallops at Dua Vino was simply amazing. The culinary artistry, flavors, and overall dining experience surpassed my expectations. I highly recommend these dishes to anyone looking for an extraordinary gastronomic adventure. Dua Vino has secured its place as a culinary gem that I will...
