Dragonfly is seriously the best secondhand store in person and online for clothing, accessories home decor and furniture! Below I'll list my fave parts-And some tips
ONLINE STORE: I'm a majorrrr online shopper, and they have the best website ever. It's super organized and you can filter my size/color/ designer etc and I do local pickup but my sister ordered something from Texas and said the shipping is super fast. Also they have these "online exclusives" which are basically the staff picks I think, so if you want to know where to start, go to the staff faves tab!
DESIGNER STUFF: I think my fave part is they have this weekly luxury/designer online"drop" thing every Tue at 11:00 am-- which super super nice stuff (PRADA, Louis Vuitton, Celine, Stuart Weitzman etc.) and they are all wayyy cheaper than other online secondhand places like the RealReal and ThredUp and stuff. I got these amazing Prada sneakers for literally $115. (I really wanted his LV purse but I over slept and someone already bought it!).
VINTAGE BRANDS: I loveeee vintage clothes and they have so many gorgeous pieces....I literally buy my entire wardrobe from there!!! They have some more known brands online (YSL, Moschino, Levis etc.) and also some just super cool lesser known brands (e.g. Roberta Di Camerino, Louis feraud, Julie Francis etc etc.)
FURNITURE: The furniture is gorgeous and sooooo well priced- I am literally never shopping at IKEA ever again. I live in Miami but don't have a car but got this beautiful white leather chair and I was able to schedule a delivery right there at the store.
THE CAUSE: so Dragonfly is owned by the nonprofit called LEAP so 100% of every purchase goes to help women transition from prison. They do a bunch of stuff like in-prison entrepreneurship education and providing housing post-prison but my fave part is that Dragonfly is almost entirely staffed by formerly incarcerated women--and they are SO LOVELY. They are all super helpful and nice. It's so fun to shop there because they know me by name and are so welcoming. I love knowing that every dollar I spend helps support them
PRO TIP 1: on insta they announce flash sales (like 2 day 50% off the whole store) and new drops so defs follow it.
PRO TIP 2: I normally don't subscribe to newsletters bc i don't want spam but they literally only send 2 a month and give me early access to sales and stuff and discount codes etc. so its worth it.
PRO TIP 3: if you are visiting from somewhere with cold weather, they have so so many gorgeous jackets and coats for so so cheap because well..... the store...
Read moreThis is an awesome thrift store. Dragonly is operated by LEAP, Ladies Empowerment and Action Program. They are a faith based non profit founded in 2009. Their mission is to provide business education to women transitioning out of prison. The thrift store is run by graduates from the program. LEAP fills a much needed gap because many of the programs offered to women leaving prison revolve around substance abuse. Women who do not have addiction problems can slip through the cracks of getting help. LEAP steps in when women are not eligible for homeless services and they can't find employment. LEAP has partnered with the Barry University Andreas School of Business in order to help women transcend their past. The thrift store is named after dragonflies because “Dragonflies symbolize transformation, adaptability and self-realization.”
What a wonderful cause and what a darling store! To start off with they have free parking, a rarity in Miami. You just need to enter the driveway to the left of the entrance and head behind the store. It is a little tight but hey it's free.
This thrift store resembles more of a boutique than a second hand junk retailer. The store is very narrow but they have filled it with gorgeous treasures. You enter in the clothing and accessory section and make your way down through books, furniture, and household goods. Everything is in excellent condition and artfully arranged. Prices are higher than your typical thrift store but the items are quality. They often get in name brand handbags. If I am ever invited to a fancy gala I am heading here for an evening gown for only $15. They also have vintage and antique items. Follow them on Instagram to see their latest and greatest items. I am a new...
Read moreWent there this weekend with my friend and his mom, and I was blown away at the level of service provided to me by Rebecca. I felt like I had a Saks 5th experience. She was very helpful, attentive, and informed me that all of our proceeds go to a program for women fresh out of jail. Not only was she beautiful physically, she was the most kinda person ever. She took my clothes from me once I accumulated over 6 pieces, got me a dressing room and even gave feedback while she managed a register. The policy is no more than 5 pieces at a time, and I feel like people can be nasty about that. She allowed me to take 5 pieces in and hung the other 5 pieces outside for me while I changed. Her assistant also stood close to me take my "No's" & Neatly compiled my "yes's". Did I mention by the time I made it to the register she has my things folded and bagged? I live in Coral Springs and I will be making the drive once a month not only to support the organization, but to support Rebecca. Amazing experience, left me speechless. Thank you again Rebecca, Dragonfly is blessed to have you. When I own my own company in the near future, Rebecca is the type of person I would go and handpick. Something in her eyes, she is very special and made my experience very special. ...
