Agren’s is no longer the standup appliance store to purchase from. We ordered a commercial grade washer and dryer after waiting for the bank of sales associates to cease joking around or stop playing solitaire for at least ten minutes. So much for customer service. We placed the order and the appliances arrived a few weeks afterwards. The washing machine has scratches on both sides and the dryer door was facing the wrong direction and appears a bit floppy from not being installed correctly. They stated it would take a week to get a replacement door and they would let them know about the scratches on the washing machine. All this occurred in August. Not once has Agren’s called to update us nor have they returned our multiple calls. We have left several messages and not one call has returned.. Should it be that difficult to deliver undamaged appliances, and, if there are scratches and a broken door, they have had going on 2 months to correct the issues yet have not called us once to keep us informed how they plan to rectify it. We always have purchased our appliances with Agren’s and had great service, but I believe it was sold to a new owner in 2018. The customer service is extremely poor and the sales person who sold us our appliances didn’t appear to have any information on it — that should of had us leaving without purchasing anything. He placed the order and what arrived was a scratched washing machine and the incorrect door for the dryer which they installed anyway and it has been wobbly ever since. Once they had our money they didn’t return any calls from us nor initiate the repairs of the damaged appliances. The most horrible service and installment of damaged goods with absolutely the worst customer service. We will never buy from them again nor recommend them. We have since heard from friends that they had similar issues. One waited 20 minutes for service when there were several salespersons available sitting chatting at the front desk and she finally walked out when not one person asked her if she needed assistance. She was there to buy top of the line kitchen and laundry appliances which would have been a great sale for them, but no customer service as some of the sales associates played computer games and others were talking and laughing with their co-workers. Not a great business model and I predict they will lose a lot more business before they close their doors for good. ...
Read moreService is the reason this review is not glowing. If you are looking to learn about the service of appliances and the fees associated, read on. And yes, I did not purchase the extended warranty when I bought the appliance. The appliance was just over a year old.
Buying appliances? Great experience. Shiny, beautiful—everything you dreamed of. And if you buy from Agren, you get to be able to have them service your appliances. Their team only services the appliances that "they sell."
After learning this key detail, a seriously chipper recording from Eric Agren himself, assuring you they’re “working hard to hire more people” and “doing everything they can.” So upbeat, you’d think they were handing out free cookies.
(No cookies here.)
After my hold time, the person assisting me after hearing about my problem sets a time, then drops this: $275 just for a tech to show up. (OK.) Then a $15 “gas surcharge.” (Ummm....That is $290 just to have someone diagnose the problem. Parts might be more which I expect. )
I am then told that I get to put down a $25 to reserve the appointment that was a couple of weeks away. This $ would go towards the service fee (aka the $290.).
I get it Eric Agren is running a business and having employees is not cheap and it is hard to find good solid people. And put all of this info in your chipper intro. And don't add a separate GAS FEE. We are all paying for gas, you most likely pay less per gallon with your corporate account with WEX (another amazing Maine company).
I hired an independent person who came within 48 hours. It cost less than $290. I did not have to pay for that. I was able to send a video of what was happening, so technician had seen what the problem was. This is not possible with Agren. Diagnosed and fixed in less than an hour. I will call that person again.
TIP = Go through the whole customer journey and experience. Do not leave it to the employee to deliver your fees after a 10+ min hold time. Your phone support is not empowered to provide nuance to the situation. Customers choose Agren because we believe in Shopping Local and are all over the state. Trust and transparency creates...
Read moreI am on my third Blomberg refrigerator. The first two failed (and the second one came with a dent in the door as well as would not get below 40) and Blomberg took responsibility and after waiting weeks and weeks and weeks they finally replaced it and now the new refrigerator is also a fail. It will not cool down. It stays above 40 most of the time and is leaking water under the tray . I have had the service tech out here starting on the second day that I owned it in on the 30th day when the water began to leak. He said to me that he would talk to his boss and get this problem resolved for me. He told the service department that the issue was resolved! Nothing is resolved. He did not fix anything and they want to make me wait another two weeks only to send the same service technician out again like it's a brand new problem. I am so fed up with this issue and I only want A refrigerator that works. When the first refrigerator broke, Blomberg offered to give me a credit so that I could pick a different brand because they no longer made the first one that failed. I should've taken a different brand. ! To be fair Agren has been pretty good except their service department stinks and they take way too long! You have to be home and available for a As they do not give you a timeframe and for me, I work that has been a nightmare. I want my issue resolved. I definitely Would like to warn you if you are considering a Blomberg appliance I would not get it. My stove has had many issues as well and I will never buy Blomberg again.!!!! Thank goodness Maine has the Maine implied warranty law ! They have to Repair it or replace it within four years. But this has been the biggest hassle I don't dare to buy food As it is often too warm in the refrigerator. Food is not safe above 40°. I highly recommend you put a digital thermometer in...
