Disturbing stance from owner of Ultimate Gifts & Nortonâs!
I was a loyal UG shopper back when they were still @ car wash shop (when operated under original owner), and later on @ Getwell/Goodman (original owner sold to current owner). I spent hundreds of dollars (designer tableware, home decor, art) each visit.
What appalled and abruptly ended me being a regular customer @ UG was the ownerâs holier-than-thou, pretentious attitude and a staff that treated me like a potential shoplifter instead of a valued customer. There was never a glimpse of appreciation shown at checkout for repeatedly supporting this small business. I was always met with snarky comments and staring glares visit after visit, as if I was another candidate for shoplifting scandals that the owner finds enjoyment in publicly shaming (yes, even since back in the day before moving over to Silo).
Whatâs most concerning, though, is the ownerâs recent public stance. To dismiss criticism by boasting that other boutiques âcopy and pasteâ UG and Nortonâs is pure arrogance. NO business is aspiring to replicate UG-what is mediocre at best. The double standard of blasting shoplifters online before the ink on SPD police report is dry, while publicly defending AND employing a friend facing serious charges is beyond hypocritical.
The passive-aggressive, condescending replies from Lauren Norton (owner) to these any less-than-glowing reviews (or just deleting them because they donât fit her narrative) only confirms what many already know: this is not a business, or owner, that values humility or âgraceâ, despite the constant âChristianâ branding. God doesnât like ugly. What goes around...
Read moreI was working on a paper flower bouquet and needed help wrapping it to make it look presentable. I called up Ultimate Gifts, and without hesitation, they said theyâd help me out. When I showed up, the entire staff was super friendly and made the whole experience fun. They didnât just helpâthey went above and beyond and made my project look wayyy better than I couldâve ever done on my own.
This place isnât just a gift shopâitâs the spot if you ever need a thoughtful gift or even a little creative help like I did. Theyâve got a great selection of unique items, and the vibe in there is just welcoming. Even if they donât have exactly what youâre looking for, I have no doubt that they can brainstorm something just as good if not better for you. Honestly, 5/5âcouldnât recommend it more if youâre looking to make someoneâs day with a special gift. Iâll definitely be coming back with a +1 next time :)
P.S....
Read moreMy husband went in to purchase Christmas gifts. The associates were not helpful at all. When I went back to echange for a different size. The doors were locked. The signs say they close at 3 but it was only 2:15. I knocked and was told they close at 2. No where did it say that. It was pouring down rain and all she could say was sorry when I pointed out the hours posted. They should have holiday hours posted outside if they are different. Closing that early the weekend after Christmas isn't very accommodating. I will be finding my Ronaldo...
