Words are not sufficient in expressing how much love I have for this store and how much I adore and respect the owner. From the first time I visited Magnolia House, I knew it was different. I was greeted with a warm smile by the owner Nancy Veldman who promptly asked what she could help me with. What was initially an impromptu stop at a beautiful retail store, led to one of the most treasured friendships I now have today. Never have I gone into Magnolia House and not seen Nancy welcoming customers with her smile and warm southern charm. Her compassion and empathy is felt through not only her music, which is played in the store, but also through each conversation you have with Nancy. She is real, she is warm, and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. It’s rare to find a retail store whose primary goal is friendship, as opposed to some stores who are more concerned about the type car you, the customer, arrived in. When it comes to Nancy, she’s far more interested in the friendships that can be made and how her store can impact your life for the better. I can say without hesitation that my life has been enriched because of the addition of Magnolia House and by meeting...
Read moreMy initial review has disappeared and I want to make sure I give these ladies the shout-out they deserve! We have loved Magnolia House and Nancy’s curation abilities since her shop was down in Florida and were THRILLED to find out the store was relocating to Southaven. In this boutique you’ll find gifts, decor, lounge wear, baby gifts, books, and other quality items of all price-ranges. Plus a peaceful, warm atmosphere. This shop is an introvert’s dream - the ladies are welcoming and helpful but do not follow you around or try to make a sale off of you. The items are all of beautiful quality and craftsmanship and they offer gift-wrapping too! I’ve given numerous gifts from here and have often gotten the drilled on when I got them. I never gate-keep and love spreading the word...
Read moreWas doing a little window shopping after lunch with a friend last Thursday. Wondered in to Magnolia House and was pleasantly surprised by all the interesting and beautiful things in the shop! We both found some items we couldn’t do without, some gifts for friends and family, and a lovely little bookshop in the back of her store filled with so much that I’m going back this week to find more goodies! We met the owner, Nancy Veldman, and were intrigued and totally blessed by her life and story. We were immediately friends! When we checked out, she added a few “gifts” to our bags! I encourage everyone to check out her store and meet her. Don’t forget to ask about how she got from Destin to Mississippi. You will be...
