We purchased a King size mattress and head board/foot board/frame from Sam's Furniture. Timothy was our salesperson and he was very friendly and helpful. I would say he was the least pushiest salesperson I've ever been around (which is a good thing). He very politely showed us around the store and was very patient with us throughout the entire process.
We told him we were going to decide in a few days and he very politely gave us his card and asked to let him know if we have any questions. We then proceeded to check many of the other furniture stores around. Sam's by far had the best prices for the quality of product we were looking for. We decided a few days later and Timothy was there to help us finalize the purchase. We elected to pick it up our self (though they had a delivery service for I believe $70-something and same day delivery for ~ $100).
I thought one other thing that made Sam's stand out was they have a huge portion of their inventory in stock ready to take home right away (we took ours home the same day we bought it). Many of the other stores had 2-4 week delivery times with extra charges on top of the sale price. So even though the sticker price looked to be comparable in price, by the time you added all the delivery charges and other red tape charges it came out to more.
When we went to the loading location of the building we had another great experience with that. A very polite and helpful gentlemen helped us load everything and most importantly for me tied it down and secured it for us into the back of my truck as well. I had straps but figured out they weren't long enough so he cut twine himself and rigged it up in a very safe and secure way. I got my things in two loads and the same person was there each time to help me load it. A few of the other people I came in contact with in the loading area were also very polite and friendly.
I have made purchases from Sam's in the past but this was the first time I've been in their new facility. It's a huge facility with a lot of space. They also have a clearance facility right next door to it.
Overall I came away very impressed. Every person I came in contact with was helpful and friendly. Unlike other furniture stores, nobody was pushy. They gave you time to make a decision and I thought Timothy did a good job of promoting the products Sam's sold without trying to trash the competition (which I think is always a bad look). I've always had good experiences at the store and trust me I've tried and shopped around to make sure there isn't a better deal that I'm missing. The shopping experience is excellent. Staff is eager to help and friendly. They have a huge warehouse with plenty of selection and styles. Staff are willing to take a cue from you as to whether you want to browse on your own or need questions answered. They were willing to loan me tape measures, pens, paper, etc. and were quick to offer help, but didn't pressure me. It was a much lower pressure environment than many other furniture stores in the area. (We visited at least 4 others)
I have actually had some problems with the furniture I bought, but I still give them 5 stars because their customer service is amazing. Every issue we have had they have replied promptly and made it right. They have replaced furniture with irreparable issues, and have sent a handyman to repair or strengthen aspects of the furniture that were not manufactured in a quality way. We got the stain/rip protection because we have kids and they have come out twice and made our couches look new again.
In my opinion, they offer great value furniture. It's not the cheapest stuff on the market that will really break right away, but it's furniture that people can afford- which has to come at a sacrifice of some quality. If you want furniture to last a lifetime, this store isn't really for you, in my opinion. However, you will also spend 3-4x as much money to get that lifetime furniture, and even though that may make "the most economic sense" it only makes sense if you actually have that upfront capital to spend. But if you're looking for decent quality affordable furniture with the best customer service you've ever experienced, Sam's furniture is your place.
