Mitch Grooming — Local services in St. Louis

(Zero stars is more appropriate) Terrible ! I look like a 5 year old cut my hair, very poor cut ! The guy who cut my hair (Matt) had no clue what he was doing and cut my hair in like 5 minutes ! He was so fast he forgot to even take care of my over grown side burns !

I had an interview coming up so I went. I was told by my friend to ask for Shannon so I could look great for my important interview.

So one week in advance I made an appointment. The day before I called to confirm the time and on both occasions I checked to see if my friend's recommended guy was cutting my hair and I was told yes (in fact I spoke to Shannon when I made the appointment a week before).

Walk in on the day, the girl who checked me in tells me that Matt will be cutting my hair. When I said I had asked for Shannon specifically, she made it appear I had made a mistake. A few minutes later Shannon walks in and says he has injured his hand !

It would have been common courtesy I would have thought to let someone know BEFORE they arrive that things have changed or at least once I arrive admit the accident instead of trying to make it appear that it was my mistake !

Interview in 2 days and I had no time to make another appointment somewhere else (not to mention getting ready for my interview). So agreed to let the other guy cut my hair. Not ONE word, had a terrible attitude ! The unfriendliest stylist I have ever encountered and I have been to many cookie cutter salons !

I would have rather paid a cookie cutter salon and gotten a better cut and a more friendlier hair stylist ...

For 19 years I cut my own hair. However, this year I decided to have someone else do it for me for the first time. So I went to Sport Clips a few times without any success. Once I tried showing the stylist a quick 2 min video of the style I wanted. She watched a few seconds and said “yeah yeah yeah I got it”, rushed me in and out of the chair and left me a generic haircut, which was nothing like what I tried showing her…and worst of all, I could have done it myself. Then I remembered that was one of several reason why I started doing it myself.

Then I decided to try another place. The first time I went into Mitch STL was for a beard trim and Jared did an amazing job on fading my beard. The second time I went in, Christina did an excellent job giving me a trendy, great looking haircut. The talent and skills of the stylist at Mitch STL far exceeds anything I received at Sport Clips. I will continue to visit this place as long as they maintain their talented and...

Mat did an incredible job on my undercut extension. I was feeling indecisive about how high up to go, but he suggested a length and I trusted him with it and thank god I did. I am OBSESSED. It turned out perfect and exactly what I wanted. He paid extremely close attention to every detail of my cut, and made sure to ask me what I preferred at every step. He is very clearly well-trained and has immense knowledge; he threw some terminology around and explained the differences between this cut vs that cut. But since I am not nearly as well-versed in this field as he is, I told him "go for it" and let him do what he wanted. And I couldn't be happier with his work. Also he is cool af. Great conversationalist :) Anyone would be lucky to have him as their barber. I happened upon him by pure chance - I was just calling around different salons for availabilities. But I will definitely be going back to him for every cut / touch up from now...
