Went to the Garth concert last night and it was evident that the Dome was not prepared for such a large amount of people. Easy access roads were closed off which should not have been, people were hearded like cattle to the front door which upset the people who had been standing in like for hours. This made the line people angry to the point of fighting yet we had no choice but to "push forward" as the workers in yellow were yelling. The crowd was pushed in front of the garage parking and in the street. We were told that we were blocking the whole street and cars couldn't get through but there was literally nothing we could do with thousands of people smashed together neck and neck. The garage entrance should NOT be so close to the Dome entrance. We arrived at 4:30 right before the crowds started to move forward and it took forever to get our prepaid parking pass because the 2 women workers were arguing over what numbers had been taken and who is taking what numbers. Not sure how this is our problem. Just give us the red pass and go... also we paid $45 for parking when sign said $40... The doors were supposed to open at 5 yet didn't open til 5:30ish which was a ripple effect with the rest of the night. As soon as we got in we ordered 2 cheeseburger baskets. We were told we had to wait so went into another massive line to wait yet again... 7:00 comes and the show has still not started. 7:30 comes and my husband goes to get us another drink but they ran out of cups. The show still hasn't started yet. 7:45 people in front of us said they ran out of Budweiser. They make an announcement saying they are still waiting on about 10,000 more people to get in the stadium before they can start the show. My friend texts me from outside saying that the line isnt moving and they cant even get in. I believe the stadium definitely needs metal detectors instead of the wands. People didnt know where to stand to get wanded and the wanders asked a lot of questions such as poking my belly and asking if it was a belt lol. She just sort of looked at me for a minute like she wanted me to whip out my gut lol. There were women using the mens bathrooms because the lines were so long for the womens and the womens bathroom had pads stuck to the wall and no toilet paper. The sanitary trash had disappeared do people were sticking sanitary items to the stalls and walls and floor behind toilet. Worst smell ever. I just held it til I got home. There was trash everywhere in the stadium. I saw one concession stand start piling it up behind them on the floor. All in all we had a great time I just think the stadium needed to be more prepared. We sat way at the top and kept watching people fall down the stairs. We ended up helping some guys wipe the stairs off with paper towels since no workers were anywhere to be found. Very dangerous situation. One woman rolls all the way down and took out everyone's drinks. Steps need grip tape...
Read moreMy family goes to the car show every year and usually at least a couple other events throughout the year. Its always a good time and a lot of fun. This years drift show was great. 3 stars because we had to deal this year with an extremely rude and insulting staff member.my brother is a quadriplegic and uses a special battery powered wheelchair. While in the very back of the show, farthest point from the main entrance, his chair broke and would not move under it's own power. Its never happened before and we found the chair very hard and awkward to push. Luckily (we thought) there was an exit fairly close to us. However, even though there where lit exit signs as we got close the female staff member near the door yelled out to us "this is not an exit" we very politely explained our situation, at which point she repeated herself then crossed her arms and refused to say another word to us, she just kept looking away like we where invisible. We even asked if she could call security or medical staff or anything to see what we could do. She continued to ignore us. We finally had to walk around until finding actually security personnel, this gentleman seemed shocked at what we told him and agreed to help us. While speaking to him he called over the walkie talkie to report the situation, at which point the rude woman we originally felt with replies the we are liars and there is wheelchair... I was shocked and confused. My brother was right there, clearly in a wheelchair. The security staff let us out and even waited with my brother in the heated doorway while I got the van. Surprisingly the women stood staring giving us a dirty look the entire time. Big thanks to the actual security staff for handling the situation correctly. I genuinely hope this woman has moved on to another job or position though, hopefully something where she does not have to be around the...
Read moreThis was my first sports arena event, and I was very excited to see the Battlehawks game this past Saturday. The game was cool I will say however, upon getting to the gate, I was introduced to their so called bag policy. Although there were other patriots that I saw walking in with "large bags". I guess me having a larger purse was considered a bag, and I was told that I couldn't come in with it. Per the signs for prohibited items only says "bag". It doesn't say large purse, and I believe this is very deceiving. It should be listed on the size of the bag on their poster board as well so there isn't confusion. Luckily we drove and didn't take public transportation but I ended up having to walk back to the car in sandals, which was about a mile away and a mile back. Because of this, I endured a swollen foot which is still not healed. I did express my concerns with the director of guest services, Loreen, to which she seemed to have downplayed and basically trying to insinuate the blame on me. When you are supposed to be empathetic and apologize to one of your paying customers, you don't put a blame on that person as if they were in the wrong. This is probably why I hadn't been to any events because of the so called rules they make up as they go, on top of the treatment received in the event something happens. These companies and staff will try to cover themselves. Not sure if I will be back because it could be another rule overlooked or downplayed. I'll just watch the...
