I usually love this place and have always had great experiences here. I've been going Ballpark Village open but I don't think I'll be returning after last night at Brew House. Our table ordered a bunch of shots but didn't finish them right away, we were standing up next to the table and the cocktail waitress came over and took all of them away. When we saw, we went over to the bartender and asked him about it, we were really only concerned since they are rather expensive. He said he didn't see it happen and she probably didn't realize, which is fair enough since we should have been paying more attention. After that, when we saw her, my friend asked her about it and she said they were empty and that we must of been confused because we already took them. Which neither of us were even close to being drunk where we would of forgotten but we weren't super concerned because it was probably just an accident and like I said, we should of paid more attention to what the waitress was picking up. After that though, my friend and I were laughing to each other on the dance floor and the waitress actually came over to us and said she knew that we were taking about her and was extremely rude. Both of us were kind of taken back because it was very loud and I'm not even sure how it could of been perceived as us talking about her. Even if we were though, I've never been approached like that and it was very unprofessional. I went over and just said that we weren't talking about her but that we would be using the other bar instead and would not be tipping her, she said okay and that was it. As we were over at the other bar, security came and said that she reported that we were harassing her and that we needed to leave. The whole situation was completely bizarre to us. The security personnel did apologize and say that they had to unfortunately act no matter what since she, as an employee reported harassment. I would like to say that they handled the situation really well and were very apologetic but I'm just so shocked that one of the employees would be so forward and rude to customers over something as small as a misunderstanding over drinks. I've only ever encountered great employees at Ballpark Village, but she left so much of an impression that this won't be my go-to...
Read moreA waitress literally yelled at our party and made us leave, so I will never be returning to attempt to dine here. One person in our party saw someone he knew at a huge table with half of it empty, leaving enough seats that would fit our group of 7. He asked if we could join them, and they said they'd love that but to ask the hostess to make sure it was fine. He asked the hostess, who said it was fine and to go ahead and sit down. We were only sitting for a couple of minutes when a waitress asked us if we'd checked in, did someone actually seat us, why would we be seated at a table with no menus, etc. We answered all of her questions truthfully, so she walked away after we told her which hostess told us we could sit down. She came back with another waitress and just started yelling at us, practically screamed as her voice raised as she went along. She said we lied to get that table, we hadn't checked in properly (even though the hostess told us we could sit there), that there were "real" customers waiting to sit at that table, and that she wouldn't serve us. The person in our party who had originally asked the hostess if we could sit at the table asked the yelling waitress if she wanted us to leave, and she yelled that yes, she needed us to leave. Our party leader talked to the other waitress to ensure that the hostess, who did nothing wrong, wouldn't get in trouble, as they wouldn't get a manager for us to speak to. The waitress had absolutely no right to yell at us, especially since two of the members of our group were my 70+ year old grandparents and we'd gotten permission from everyone to sit at this table. As we stood outside for at least 5 minutes, if not more, to figure out where we could go to eat, or at least get my grandparents a place to sit, no one new was seated at the table the waitress had yelled at us to leave from. If we were taking other customer's table from people who were waiting, where were they, and why weren't they seated directly after we left? For some reason, she just decided that berating us for doing absolutely nothing wrong was totally fine, even though she didn't have any other customers to sit at that table. It was a...
Read moreWent there for Mother's Day, didn't seem too crowded but the service and food were hit or miss. I felt like my meal was pretty good, even though $6.50 for about 10 oz of Premium Bud Pour seems a bit pricey. Burger was great and fries were decent.
But this was Mother's Day, and the kitchen "forgot" to cook my own mother's meal. She didn't wait too terribly long, but out of all the orders to forget? Ugh. She liked her salmon though. Good amount of rice and asparagus with it.
Gooey butter cake was pretty good, so I'd recommend that. Those were all the positives, other than the beautiful day and the proximity to a great ballpark.
Negatives: portions were tiny for about half of our table's orders. My sister spent about $20 in entree and dessert and was still hungry, and she's half the size I am. I'm 5'10" and 150 lbs. My wife and dad ordered the brisket, which was pretty much a hoagie with onions and BBQ sauce. Brisket meat was scarce. At least we got the hoagie roll, as the server had mentioned they ran out of them when he took our order.
Server was polite, but our drink orders seemed to be at the bottom of the priority list. I know it's Mother's Day, so I expect some running around, but the place wasn't that packed. They either understaffed or were just neglecting our two tables. I had 1 beer in the first hour. I would have liked to order another one sooner than 60 minutes after the previous one. (Hint: you make more money that way as both a server and an establishment.) A glass of water would have been a great substitute. Again, still sat there for an hour with no food and only 1 drink.
Personally, my own experience was probably a 3-star, but with my mother getting forgotten about and the rest of my family getting shorted on portions, I'd have to say you're better off finding another place to eat...
