Stamford Mall is very limited in the variety of stores, not to mention the stores that are there never last long. Constant change. The mall is so dim and gloomy. This is the only mall that I have been to the requires you to pay for parking. Yes it's cheap but why am I required to pay for parking to begin with. Milford, Trumbull even the Palisades does not require you to pay for parking. Store prices are expensive enough! Stamford mall really needs to upgrade their look(i.e. lighting, more of a variety of stores that most people have heard of. Stamford is literally between New York and New Haven....high traffic area. My point is with the variety of people the pass by Stamford, it would be beneficial for them to appeal to a bigger crowd with appearance and variety that has consistency so that the town can generate more income. I literally prefer to travel miles away to Palisades, Milford Mall etc to purchase items because of the variety of stores not to mention that I know that if I go back to one of the malls I mentioned in 1 year, it will still be there. I am assuming Stamford town is charging the stores too much rent and with the limited patrons, the town can't possibly think that a store will remain in this area. The mall looks exactly the same to me from 30 years ago...some redecorating...but not so much that it wows me. Not even the restaurants the are much newer last. The only constant is Macys. With all the building that's being done in Stamford, you would think the town would try to keep people in the area at least with allowing consumers to purchase in Stamford vs going to another town to spend their money because of the limitations. There probably no progression because whoever is making the decisions clearly does not want to adapt to change. Certainly isn't a younger generation of people deciding. FYI...asthetics plays a big part. Stamford is becoming too crowded with outrageously expensive apartments...the least it can do is offer variety to the community for...
Read moreI recently visited Nathan’s at Stamford Mall in Connecticut, and I have to say, it was a disappointing experience overall. While the place looked clean and well-maintained, the food just didn’t live up to expectations—even for fast food.
I ordered their crispy chicken sandwich combo, and what stood out immediately was how chewy and dry the burger was. It felt like they had taken a frozen patty, heated it excessively (probably in an oven or microwave), and served it without much thought to texture or freshness. The patty lacked any juiciness or real flavor. Instead, what you taste are overpowering artificial flavors and preservatives—most likely the typical chemical additives franchises use to ensure consistency and longer shelf life. Unfortunately, this just made the food feel more synthetic than satisfying.
The crinkle-cut fries were okay but also felt mass-produced and under-seasoned. The drinks were standard, nothing memorable.
I understand this is a franchise, and many chains serve similar quality food. But compared to even basic fast food joints, this just didn’t feel like a decent meal. It lacked that simple comfort or authenticity you might expect from a place boasting “The Flavor of New York.”
Having read some earlier reviews, I noticed others shared similar experiences—complaints about rubbery patties, mediocre customer service, and bland sides. Sadly, I can now say I experienced the same.
If you’re at the Stamford Mall and craving something fresh or flavorful, I’d suggest exploring other options in...
Read moreDO NOT VALET YOUR CAR! I had dinner at Capital Grille on Dec.1st at 6:30pm and I never, ever valet my because I take impeccable care of car, as I am in the automotive industry. In the interest of saving time, I did skeptically valet my Range Rover. After dinner, it was dark, so of course I took no notice and drove home. In the morning, I noticed the damage immediately, the alloy wheels on the passenger side had been utterly gauged and destroyed. I immediately took it up with Capital Grille, who promptly replied they are not responsible as the valet company is hired by the Stamford Town Center and provided me the contact information. I contacted them immediately, they took a while to get back to me, but were polite and quick to put in my claim with photos to their insurance provider. There has been no reply for weeks until today, wherein the insurance carrier is denying my claim for damage. I am furious these people are not taking responsibility for damaging me car when I entrusted them with it. I am now pursuing legal means to have the damage repaired. Mind you, this is the valet service for ALL of those restaurants in that circle at the Town Center as well as the mall, so whatever you do, AVOID...
