Update my review to keep it concise and to respond to their reply, which was professional at first, but they decided to change after not getting an immediate response:
I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Evans at Sugar Land Medical Spa. I originally scheduled with Dr. Patel, but Dr. Evans entered the room and said, “She’s busy, so I can take you.” This set the tone for an appointment where my concerns—irregular periods, sexual pain, and possible PCOS—were repeatedly dismissed. Dr. Evans attributed everything to an STD, despite my long-term monogamous relationship, him being my only partner for years, and negative test history. I had to beg for a well-woman exam, which she reluctantly performed and rushed through, she told me I was “too young to need one”. I’ve had lots of issues down there and am sexually active, I’d say that’s reason enough. She dismissed PCOS as a possibility, contradicting diagnostic guidelines, and left me without answers.
The staff added to the frustration, initially claiming they didn’t take my insurance (despite proof) and now trying to charge me full price. The ultrasound technician was the only positive part of the visit—kind and professional—but the rest of the experience was unorganized and invalidating. Everyone is also very rude over the phone and very dismissive
Update: After my review, they responded defensively, claiming my experience “didn’t happen” and changing their reply when I didn’t respond immediately. This gaslighting behavior is wildly unprofessional. I’ve since been properly diagnosed with PCOS and a bacterial infection by another provider—both dismissed here. I strongly discourage anyone, especially young women without someone older to advocate, from seeking care at this practice. Their dismissive attitude and lack of accountability make it clear they do not prioritize patients’ concerns. I was planning to call at the end of the holiday week to try and sort things out, but now will be going through insurance to sort that issue out and moving on from this business
Update 2: I ended up giving them a call, and while the lady over the phone was very kind, I still have yet to experience anything positive from this place. She told me she'd look into finding out who left the reply to my review (I'm assuming it was Dr. Evans because she is very unprofessional in my opinion, check out other replies to negative reviews which I wish I had listened too.) I in no way felt comfortable to "have an open an honest conversation", because everything I said was dismissed. Accusing me of being a competitor is unbelievably crazy. That alone should show you the type of unprofessionalism this spa creates. Feel free to look at my other reviews dating years back, I am just a teenage girl who simply needed help and never received it. You can even look that right after I posted my review, suddenly a bunch of positive reviews came in. Makes you think? If I was not a patient, why have I been harassed about payment for months now? I uploaded my insurance card when I was asked. And now just received a call from a DEBT COLLECTOR. I'm updating this 2 months later and had planned to leave it alone, but after getting a debt collector call while being sick, I will make it my mission to let anyone and everyone I know that this clinic will only give you more of a headache...
Read moreUPDATE: Finally getting around to a final update. My visit with Dr. Evans went well. Minus the hiccup with the appointment/insurance issue I had initially, I think Dr. Evans is providing a valuable service to women including well women exams and additional treatments to help women feel our best when it comes to our lady parts. UPDATE: Dr. Evans called me and was kind enough to get me worked in for another appointment. She was concerned about my experience and seems very kind. Appointment coming up soon. 🙏🏽
INITIAL REVIEW: Terrible customer service at the front desk. Waited a month for my appointment. I verified with my insurance that Dr. Evans was in network. I get to my appointment just to be turned away because the staff looked at the COLOR of my card and said they don’t accept my insurance. Even after I told them it was verified that they were in network, they still said no. No one took the initiative to offer to call member services to confirm. They just refused service. I drive all the way home and call my insurance. They confirm AGAIN that they have a contract with this doctor and I shouldn’t have been turned away. They call the doctor’s office confirm that they are in network but I had an older insurance card because my new one hadn’t made it to me yet. So I call to speak to an office manager to discuss the issue and AGAIN the front desk staff says that they told member services they don’t accept my insurance! The office manager finally says she will call to verify the insurance. She calls back and confirms they are in network and then asks me to go back to their office to be seen. I tell her I have to pick my daughter up at a certain time and she says I can be seen before then. I get to the office and get checked in when the lady at front desk says I have to complete some online information. More delays. I ask her if they could have sent that ahead of time she says they did but I have no record of it. At this time it is after 3:30pm and I tell her I have to pick my child up by 4:15. Will I be able to be seen? She says yes and I’ll be done in time to get my child. I sit and I wait for almost 40 mins while they call back person after person. No one seems to even have bothered to tell the nurses or doctor that I needed to be worked in sooner. So I ended up having to leave and not be seen. And. Of course the doctor doesn’t have any openings for over a month. I wasted half my work day with this and not to mention gas. I have no idea if Dr. Evans is a good doctor but I can say her administrative staff at the front desk is lacking in customer service and empathy. No one even apologized for the mix up. They seemed to be completely...
Read moreI was referred over for a 15 minute consultation for a medical procedure. Got to my appointment 5 mins before schedule, on arrival no one greets you. I checked in with Diana, she took payment and told me to wait to be seen. Meanwhile prior to my appointment, I had been told that I would have no co-pay. I waited 45 mins, went back to Diana to ask why I was being delayed and she said I was next… Finally got in and Kayla was somewhat pleasant; took my weight and bp and said to wait in the room and that the doctor would be with me shortly. I waited for another 30 mins and finally got frustrated, walked out of the room and asked again why I was being delayed and no one was giving any updates… then Kayla tells me the doc was just finishing with another patient. About 6 mins later, the Dr Evans walks in and jumps right into what brings me to see her and right away I had to stop her and express my frustration about the service and the lack of courtesy of her staff. She apologizes and asks how she can make me happy and so we get into why I’m there in the first place… unfortunately I had to return the next day for a shot. Next day being today, I walk in for my appointment and again Diana shows no courtesy!!! As a matter of fact I said good morning and she doesn’t respond and instead talks over me to another patient. When she’s done, she says “name” and I give her my name… then she stretches out her hand, and I’m looking at her like what do you need. Then she said “can I have the medication”, I give it to her and then she says “someone will be with you”. So I go sit down and 7 mins later, Kayla comes to get me, no initial courtesy… she checks my weight and bp and tells me she would be giving me the shot. From out little 3 min conversation, she was actually pleasant, did my procedure and was glad to be done. I walked out and no one acknowledges, lack of courtesy!!! In summary, I will say that after my horrible experience yesterday, I was going to leave a review but changed my mind after talking with Dr Evans and speaking with my husband. Today’s experience was just the icing on the cake; nothing short of unfortunate. Diana definitely needs some courtesy lesson if not, she should not be sitting by the window. I decided that I “Must” leave a review today in hopes that things will change. One thing is certain, I will not be returning to...
