"Heavenly Comfort in a Bowl: Short Rib Pho at Its Best"
My culinary journey led me to Justa Pho and what I encountered there was nothing short of a gastronomic masterpiece - their Vietnamese Pho with short rib.
As the steaming bowl of Pho was placed before me, I couldn't help but be captivated by its presentation. The rich, clear broth was adorned with tender slices of short rib, fresh herbs, and slender rice noodles. It was a sight to behold.
One sip of the broth was all it took to transport me to culinary bliss. The broth was a masterpiece of depth and flavor, with hints of star anise, cinnamon, and ginger dancing on my palate. The short rib slices were melt-in-your-mouth tender, infusing the broth with their savory richness. It was a symphony of tastes that left me craving more with every spoonful.
The short rib itself was a revelation. Cooked to perfection, it practically disintegrated at the touch of my chopsticks. Its succulence and marbled texture added an unparalleled depth to the Pho, elevating it to a level of indulgence I had never experienced before.
The rice noodles were cooked to an ideal al dente consistency, providing the perfect canvas for the flavors of the broth and short rib to shine. They were slurp-worthy and added a satisfying chewiness to each bite.
The accompanying plate of fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime wedges, and chili slices allowed for customization, letting me tailor each spoonful to my liking. The herbs, in particular, lent a refreshing contrast to the rich broth.
The portion size was generous, making it a hearty meal on its own. I left feeling completely satisfied, yet with a longing to return for more.
The service at Justa Pho was exceptional, enhancing the overall dining experience. The Pho arrived promptly, and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive.
Overall Experience: In summary, the Vietnamese Pho with short rib at Justa Pho was a revelation of comfort and culinary finesse. It was the epitome of a warm embrace on a chilly day, a dish that combined tradition with innovation to create an unforgettable dining experience.
Conclusion: Their Short Rib Pho is a testament to the artistry of Vietnamese cuisine, and it's an experience you won't...
Read moreStopped by on my way home from Houston due to the high ratings. Ended up getting food poisoning. I noticed when I took the first sip of the broth it was not quite as hot as I’m used to receiving it at other pho restaurants. I thought of asking them to throw it in the microwave to heat up the broth some more but since I was short on time, I decided to just go ahead and eat it as it was. Worst mistake I made that day. My guess is since the broth wasn’t hot enough, some of the raw meat didn’t cook properly all the way through, which caused me to have a fever, chills, and some horrible bodily functions which I rather not mention. Had a fever and headache the 2nd night and now I’m on day 3 still suffering from headaches. I’m not saying not to eat there, just be sure you’re bowl of pho comes out piping hot, otherwise you might end up suffering like me. As for the pho itself, I felt like the broth was bland compared to pho I’ve had at other places. It was lacking depth and flavor and was quite disappointing for how highly rated it was. I would probably give it another try, but I’ll probably try any and every other pho place in the surrounding area...
Read moreI'm really bummed to give this place such a low rating. The first time I came here, I ate the tastiest vermicelli dish I've ever had. I am not normally in this part of town but it was so good that I decided to come back. When I did, I got a shrimp rocket appetizer and banh mi. The Banh mi tasted bland, the bread wasn't fresh. But the real killer was the shrimp rocket appetizer. It was very obviously undercooked shrimp, and I only realized if after it slid down my throat in its entirety by slipping out of its breading. I took a bite of another piece to make sure I wasn't trippin, and it was in fact cold and chewy. Shrimp cooked will be firm and flakier when chewed. I went about my day and I got an incredibly awful stomachache that lasted the entire day. Considering how bad shellfish food poisoning can get, I considered myself lucky I didn't evacuate both ends. I really wanted to love this place and come back, but their food quality is wildly inconsistent, and I will never risk my health over any meal.
Update for the Owners: I ate here on February 7th, 2025 at around Noon. I ordered banh mi and the rocket...
