Sunny Isles Beach — Attraction in Sunny Isles Beach

This public beach pleasantly surprised me. It is clean, not crowded (of course it's a weekday and not Spring Break yet). Absolutely beautiful sapphire and emerald waters. I walked up and down with my feet in the surf. I stopped by the Newport Fishing Pier and had a drink at the restaurant there (shoes are required at the restaurant and on the pier). All in all a great afternoon...

I had a rather unpleasant experience at this beach. The water was filled top to bottom with algae. Fish were all over the place and one even smashed in to me. I caught a huge fish (10 inches possible) while i was bathing in the water. And while i was there, the purple flag (jellyfish warning) was out. Please do not come here in late May if you do not want algae and fish all...

CONS: Beach had rotten eggs smell. Sand has larger bits and is flattened out so feels and looks different to more southern beaches. Too much small trash. PROS: Not crowded after 6pm. Great eateries nearby. Many guys fishing off the end of the pier. Million dollar luxury condo backdrop. Less tourists. Clear aqua water. Many Europeans with their families....
