Before I start my review I just want to say if you have nothing constructive to say don’t say anything at all. Or should I say type 😩🤣. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the previous reviews or else I would have missed out on a beautiful ,peaceful, experience. Took my girlfriend here the week of 4/8-4/11/2021. Soon as we walked up we waited maybe 5 minutes to be served if that. We were offered a choice of where to sit. It was a little windy on the pier so we opted to sit a little further back. You can still see the Ocean for sure and the breeze was nice. The lady that served our meal was Genivieve ( sure I’m spelling it wrong so I apologize 😩🤦🏾♀️) She was very nice and helpful in explaining what she needed too. Drinks were good and food was amazing. I had the Ribs and french fries 🍟 and they were to die for sauce was on point meat fell off the bone but still maintain a nice hold, my girl had the oysters 🦪 sushi 🍣 and crab cakes ( which have red peppers in the mix and she didn’t care for that so we had to return it ) restaurant should definitely give a heads up as that is not how we do Maryland Crab mix. Everything else tho was amazing. Oysters were perfect with bacon and cheese on it which was a nice little touch s/o the chef 👨🏾🍳💯. Drinks were delicious. I had the strawberry 🍓 lemonade and she had a strawberry martini. Definitely will be back over and over again. I’m actually back home and at work and enjoying my memories of the whole trip. So hopefully this review will help you make a decision. We caught a Lyft from the Wyndham Marco Polo Resort and it’s just a short walk to the restaurant Just follow the Ocean 🌊🥰🙌🏾💯🍽 And also for those complaining about the price that’s just ridiculous. Prepare to pay at least $80-100 per person which is not bad if you consider your on the ocean food was amazing and hey your on vacation. That’s what it’s all about. Plus you can walk the pier afterwards for free and enjoy an...
Read moreI often visit this restaurant bar. It is not a fine dining but here you can eat with an amazing view to ocean and the smell of the ocean..
EDIT April 2024: We recently paid another visit to Sandbar at Newport Pier in Sunny Isles Beach, a place we make a point to visit at least once every year. The breathtaking ocean view, the refreshing ocean breeze, the sight of people swimming, and the waterfront high rises all contribute to the charm of this place. The food and spirits further enhance the overall experience.
However, this time around, there were a few disappointments. Upon our arrival, we had to wait for several minutes to be seated by the host who was not there. Due to the lengthy wait, we decided to find a spot on the terrace ourselves, as most of the tables were available around noon. When we tried to order lunch, the server informed us that we needed to see the host first. I found this quite odd because we were still seated, but complied nonetheless. The server even told another customer, who had already ordered a beer from a different server, that he couldn’t sit at the table because he hadn’t seen the host first. This seemed rather strange, especially considering the host was not readily available.
After resolving this “host issue”, we were finally able to place our order. Another disappointment was the downsized menu, which was now limited to a single page. I ordered coconut shrimp, guacamole, calamari, and a lobster roll to share with my wife. Except coconut shrimp which was fried a lot, others were good. In previous years, the menu offered a wider variety of delectable dishes, but this year it felt limited. I noticed that other tables were only ordering a starter and beer. In conclusion, I was not pleased with the new regulations and the limited menu, which will likely influence my decision to return to...
Read moreGiving this place 2 stars, one for our server who was very nice and one for the oceanfront location. My husband and I went here on a rather rainy Tuesday evening. The restaurant was pretty empty due to the weather. We ordered two cocktails, a dozen oysters and conch fritters to start. At the suggestion of our server, I got the lychee martini and my husband ordered a drink made with vodka, blue curaçao and lemon juice (don't remember the name of it). Oysters were good and conch fritters were better than most. Both drinks were so good that we ordered 2 more with dinner. Beware that drinks are $12 each. There's no happy hour pricing. Unfortunately, my husband's second drink was strangely weak and not at all blue like the first one. That was the beginning of the end. We ordered 1 1/2 lbs. of king crab legs with Caesar salad and beach fries. The crab legs were served split in half, something we had never seen before, as we order king crab often when dining out. The crab was very dry and flaked and fell apart when removing from the shell. The fries were over cooked as well and our server ask the kitchen to make a new batch. The Caesar salad was soggy. When we told the server that the crab wasn't good, she said that there was a different manager on duty and that he split them that way and that they aren't usually served that way so that may be why they were dry but there was no offer to make it right. When presented with the check, were shocked to see we were charged over $60 for 1 1/2 lbs of crab! I wanted to ask if perhaps we had been charged for 3 lbs instead of 1 1/2, but my husband just wanted to go, so we paid the check and left. Even though we liked the location and the view, we won't...
