I was looking for a place within walking distance to the beach, where I could sit down and have a big breakfast before baking in the sun all day. Area 57 seemed to fit the bill. I came in on a Tuesday just after 9. Most people were coming in and ordering the baked goods/empanadas to go. I ordered a decaf cappuccino, which was pretty good. For food, I had the breakfast skillet, which had potatoes, plantains, sausage, bacon, cheese, and eggs. I don't normally like plantains but something about the plantain/potato combo just worked. I didn't care for the sausage, which were more like cheap hot dogs. The skillet also came with a slice of toast. I ordered a beef empanada for later, as a snack at the beach. They make it fresh because when I ordered it to go, they said it would take 10 minutes. Even eating it hours later, it was really good and I was surprised. The beef was perfectly spiced, and not dry. The empanada shell was made of corn, kind of like an arepa, and it was perfectly fried - not too greasy. I will warn you that you have to be careful with the bill. They charge you a convenience fee to use a credit card, and tack on an automatic 15% service fee. I didn't know and I paid a tip on top of that. They're sneaky about it too because on the bottom, they include a "suggested" tip (after having already collected one). The convenience fee and the service fee is based off your order total so let's say you ordered some things to go (like I did), they'll still charge you a "service charge" for those items. I did really enjoy the empanadas so I would say skip the menu food, and stick to the bakery items, get them to-go, and pay in cash. Then you can avoid all the hidden fees.

We used to order food here and visit all the time but the customer service in multiple occasions left a bad taste for us. We ordered lechona and the portion was smaller than usual and as you can see in the photo the skin was very very small and soggy. I contacted them to see if the issue could be resolved but their answer was “next time we’ll make sure it’s delicious” why next time? I expect my food to be delicious and the portions are right when I pay for it, not next time… On another occasion my sister decided to order their flan along with her dinner, she specifically asked before ordering if it was made at the restaurant and they said don’t worry it’s homemade. When her food was delivered the flan was those bland store purchased ones that you get in a little plastic container. And Again, they weren’t helpful in resolving the issue either.

A hidden gem for authentic Colombian flavor! 🇨🇴 Restaurante Area 57 is an absolute must if you’re craving real Colombian food in Miami. This place came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. I started with the Plátano Maduro con Queso y Bocadillo, and wow — it was perfectly sweet, melty, and just the right amount of indulgent. The rest of the meal was just as amazing… so much so that I completely forgot to take a picture of the main course. That should tell you everything you need to know! The flavors felt truly authentic, like a homemade meal straight out of Colombia. Friendly service and a casual, cozy atmosphere made it even better. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a taste of Colombia without leaving Miami.

I was going to order on uber eats but after seen the reviews i was completely skeptical not because so many complaints but for the way management seem to have an excuse for everything one, you don't go mopping if there are people getting serve it is just unprofessional and unless you are a top of the line retaurant you do not force your gratuities is just wrong i have to give some good points about most of the food being good but that good means nothing when customer service is not up to part if management wants to take some good advised train your employees, it is about hospitality not trying to see if you can excuse your employees mistakes, remember the customer is always right... and you are not there to compete with your customers.

Following up... Fist of all when i am going to order from ubber eats i look at reviews because trust me people just don't post reviews fir the hell of it... my review was base on my reading of all good and bad reviews i saw, you as an owner should rake the criticism and see the positive but as every response to a review you do not like you act defensive i said i belive your food is great i can not argue about it because reviews said that alot but the same way goes for customer service is bad because of your reviews anyways take the good and change for the better i do not make a bad review just because i make constructive reviews because i see potential again i am very knowledgeable about what i am talking about stop read and be proactive about don't excuse your restaurant, empower your restaurant to...

In the past I had given this restaurant a 5 star review but I was forced to change it to one star, I wish it had a negative zero star though because how my wife was treated is not acceptable. My wife started ordering from them once a week which came up to $55-75 each time. Last time she ordered they sent my son's juice (jugo de mora) in a paper bag along with the rest of the food instead of the usual cup holder, when my wife opened the bag she realized the cup was completely empty and upon further investigation we realized the juice had dripped all over the hallway and on the front door including our door mat. My wife called and someone named KAREN picked up, my wife explained what happened and said just as an FYI you should put it in a cup holder and the woman who BTW sounded extremely annoyed told her "Okay so next time I will, is that all?" So my wife said I guess that's all but at least an apology would of been nice since we just threw out almost $4.00 for a cup of juice. The woman then said "I don't know what else you want I said next time you'll get your cup holder". She wouldn't let me wife speak as she again attempted to explain that an apology would of been nice but the woman did not want to hear it and was speaking very loud over my wife. We will tell anyone and everyone we possibly can to never ever eat at this place and more importantly never order from Karen! If customer service is something she can't deliver Maybe she's in the...
