I have been looking for a new shop to cut my son's hair since our last shop told us he was too hyper for their environment. I saw some drama centered around the barber collective and decided with the comments and reviews I'd book my next appointment there. I came in expecting the drama to be true to some standard but it was NOT. This place was amazing! Que was attentive to my childrens needs and sensory issues. My son has adhd/autism/sensory processing disorder and haircuts are a marathon [ usually ] with him. I couldn't stop smiling! He was so comfortable and Que worked to make sure he could touch things before being used on him [ scissors and sheers ] and even put a towel over his shoes as he was worried about hair getting into them. They listened to his wants for his hair and did amazing with it! At no point was he ever scared or uncomfortable which just made my mama bear heart burst with happiness. I can't wait to show his occupational therapist the photo of him sitting still as we have been working for this day close to a year! My daughter wanted a more punky/gothic hair style with pink dye. Thankfully Que was able to fit us in. They listened to my daughter and offered options for bangs [ etc ] and let my kiddo choose what she wanted. Que was very knowledgeable and gave us advice on keeping the pink in my kiddos hair. The pricing was very reasonable and the product was nicely priced as well. I didn't expect to stay for as long as I did so we didn't bring a lot of snacks, but they offered us some from the snack cart [ thank you ] The environment was clean and no one judged me as I hype focused on organizing some fliers and sort. Super safe space vibes and I totally will be rebooking with Que for my first haircut in almost 8 years! I was also fully prepared to wonder about lost trying to find the location but they even texted me instructions to find their space and it was amazing [ especially those who have anxiety about knowing where to go like me! ]

All I knew when I went in was that I needed my cut to match my internal vision of myself. Nae nailed it. Not only did they get the cut entirely amazingly right, it was above my hopes. More critically, I was in a place where I felt my entire anxious body relax a moment. You never truly stop changing and this is where I'll be going from now on to come back to myself. Being able to not only visually "return to center" as an older fluid person, it was a relief to enter a more youthful space and be reminded of the welcoming vibes from queer-friendly spaces of my youth. I even felt confident enough to take a selfie (look at that volume for days! A miracle!)...

I can proudly say that not only do I go to this shop exclusively, my wife now goes to this shop! I've been a long time client of G's that has turned into a friendship over the years that I cherish. But today my wife came in and sat in Christy's chair, and the smile she put on her face after they were done is priceless! If I could give y'all more than 5 stars I would. Thank you both for having the utmost professionalism, while also providing an atmosphere that feels like home. I will continue to go to Georgette for as long as she will hold scissors and sheers in her hands.

I decided to give this shop a try because of all the glowing reviews and I wanted to support the community. Unfortunately it resulted in the most bizarre salon experience I've ever had. I scheduled an appointment with Georgette, but when I arrived I was informed she was gone for the day (no call or any notification), and given the option of either rescheduling or getting a cut from Kami. I was long overdue for a cut, and it was my first time there so I decided to give Kami a try. It was strange from the start. I showed a photo of what I wanted, Kami said "okay", and immediately spun me around facing away from the mirror and started with the trimmers. Didn't ask many questions, barely trimmed anything off (I was expecting about 3" off the top) then proceeded to DRENCH my hair in hairspray, and shape it into a fauxhawk (like a kid does in a bubble bath). When I protested and asked if they were going to cut the top at all, it was met with "oh, did you want that?", and then just started cutting away at my now hairspray drenched, stiff as a board hair, with what felt like no rhyme or reason. It was so weird I genuinely thought someone would jump out and tell me I was on a prank show. Then they used the trimmer to line up my hairline which I did not want or ask for. 40+ years of haircuts and not once has someone taken trimmers to my forehead. I can only imagine how that's going to look when it grows out. The cut is terrible. It's lopsided and cut higher over one ear than the other, the whole top is just a shapeless mess. I'd post pictures but frankly I'm too embarrassed. I guess I should have known better than to trust a...

Went in for the first time to get a fix on a haircut i got at a different barbershop, got Shanna and it was the best experience I've had at a barber ever, no exaggeration. Shanna's questions felt more involved than the game of guess who I feel like a lot of barbers are playing with their catalogue of "modern cuts for men" when they ask me what I would like. Definitely felt like I was getting a custom cut, she was so meticulous blending out my hair and went well over our time slot to make sure I was taken care of, and it was very much appreciated. Not only that, I have very sensitive skin on my neck and every barber ever who has lined up my beard has left my neck a mess of razor burn and irritation. But, after Shanna lined up my beard my neck felt refreshed and not tender at all. I'm very impressed with the care she took with me and glad to have found a barbershop I...
