William B Layton Park — Attraction in Tahoe City

Great little park. It's Layton park, but, the locals and some of us - we know it as where you park to go to "FANNY BRIDGE" .. we call it that because - when the fish are running - and - there's always fish in the water on the stream side of the dam - there's always a crowd looking over the railing, and, as you guessed it, it looks like a plumber convention on the bridge, once in a while. More often than not. So - you see everyone's and show everyone your fanny. Even in the drought years - there fish in that little puddle. You cannot fish there - but - there's some bigg'uns once in a while. Town is nice and close .. so .. day hiking to a nice eatery or drinkery (?), well, we'll call it that, is not out of the question. 9-13-21 This park has great energy. We actually went out into the lake where there normally would be 💧 water a least 12" or deeper. Did our energy work and went and hugged some trees awesome. Pay attention or you'll miss it. Nestled in the trees near the outlet for Lake Tahoe and beginning of the truckee river. See fish heading downstream. There is a very nice museum here as well along with the required gift shop. Worth your time. There are also many picnic tables with a nice view of the lake. Bring your own...
