For a place that claims to be inclusive, the treatment I've received has been quite unpleasant, especially as one of the few individuals who identify as both Black and Brown.
This issue may not matter to you unless you possess a conscientious mind, a kind spirit, and a genuine concern for others and the environments you support.
I have been practicing for over 20 years and have never encountered a studio that alternates between warmth and coldness in its interactions with patrons. Some individuals receive smiles and acknowledgment, while others—myself included—often experience indifference despite making polite attempts to engage, such as saying hello and goodbye. Approximately 80% of the time, I am not acknowledged, even when others are. I typically come and go for class without forming close relationships, but I have always tried to be kind. Unfortunately, I have felt unwelcome, and I am not the only one; others have shared similar experiences, regardless of their background. Although I have remained peaceful and chosen not to voice my concerns directly, this behavior has deeply troubled me. It’s disheartening to enjoy a great class internally and then feel disregarded afterward. I now regret the significant amount of money I've invested in this studio over the years, along with recommending it to others and engaging in acts of kindness.
Moreover, feedback is not well received, and I have witnessed staff laughing at individuals who raise legitimate concerns. This has occurred to several people, regardless of their background, leading me to believe that there is a lack of true interest in improving the situation or fostering inclusivity...
Read moreI've been practicing hot yoga since 2016 and have been to probably 100 studios as I travel for work. This experience had to be the 2nd worst I've ever had. I only made it through 1 class before cancelling my trial month membership.
During my 1st class, heated 26 posture class the instructor publically called me out by saying "This is a sequenced class so you need to follow along". I generally follow along but every body is different, so I take what I need and leave what I don't. I needed a prayer twist and took it.
That was wholly unprofessional on her part, in my 8 years practicing I've never had an instructor do that. On top of that, she was overweight and out of shape. It's a head-scratcher for me when fitness studios employ instructors who are out of shape. It's like me getting investment advice from a company that is struggling to stay in business.
Finally, I couldn't stay for a full class and I was told I had to, there was no other option because the door would be locked and no staff would be present available to re-lock it. Fair point, I get it. At the same time I've had other studios allow me to leave and the instructor re-locked it. Parking was also a struggle and no locker rooms, single co-ed bathrooms that actually smell like #2.
I asked for my money back and to their credit, they refunded me and we amicably parted ways which I appreciated.
To be fair you may love this studio. If you're more of a hippie or hardcore liberal you'll probably love it. It wasn't my jam however and I'd HIGHLY recommend you never publically call out yogis for deviating from a...
Read moreGaze Hot Yoga has been nothing short of transformative for me. Living with rheumatoid arthritis, I’ve faced my share of physical limitations, mental fatigue, and emotional ups and downs. From the moment I stepped into the warm, welcoming studio, I felt an immediate sense of peace and belonging.
The instructors here are not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also deeply compassionate. They meet you exactly where you are—offering modifications, encouragement, and a safe space to explore your body’s capabilities without judgment. The heat and mindful movement have helped ease my joint stiffness, improve my flexibility, and build strength I didn’t think was possible.
But the benefits go far beyond the physical. Each class leaves me mentally clearer, emotionally lighter, and more connected to myself. The combination of breathwork, focus, and community has been a powerful tool in managing the stress and emotional toll of chronic illness.
Gaze Hot Yoga isn’t just a studio for me—it’s a sanctuary. It’s where I’ve learned to listen to my body with kindness, to celebrate small victories, and to find joy in movement again. I’m endlessly grateful for the healing, support, and empowerment I’ve found here.
If you’re looking for a place that nurtures your body, mind, and...
