Hi guys, so we stayed in downtown tampa Fl at the Marriott Residence Inn. Check in went smooth. There is parking across the street (through the hotel) that was $25. I think that was taken out of the deposit. I booked a 2 bedroom suite on expedia. We got one handicapped bathroom and another regular bathroom with a tub. Honestly I really enjoyed the suite, especially for the price. We were on the first floor. I think it was around $288. Next, my friend got a room with a balcony. He was on the fifth floor. The balcony isnt super spacuous, but do-able. Continental breakfast was limited, but got the job done. My only real complaint would be that in the handicapped bathroom, there was rust in the shower area. I liked how close everything was (Haiku is like 2 blocks away). #tampaflorida #hotel #marriott

On arrival, the check in process was easy, and the staff at the desk was helpful. Parking in the garage was NOT ideal, so we opted for the lot adjacent from the hotel instead. The lot felt safe and was well lit at night. Location for the hotel was fine for the concert we were there for and I’m sure we could have easily walked to nearby spots, but never had the time. After check in, we went to our room which was an ADA room. We don’t need that room type, but as long as we were not taking it away from someone in need, it was fine. My spouse tried to close the curtains in the room and found it difficult, like it did not want to stay shut. It actually resulted in a very sharp object IN the curtain drawing blood from his finger (sharp object pictured), but he’s tough, so it was fine. We stayed up late talking with the people we traveled with so we ended up taking a shower pretty late, around 1AM. We found that the handheld shower head was lying on the handicap rail and thought it was odd. On further inspection, the handheld was sitting in the rail because the actual piece it connected to was broken (pictured), but again, it’s fine. Trying to turn the shower on was a STRUGGLE. I felt so stupid spinning the second valve (FIL is a plumber and he said it’s a “diverter valve”). So one was the water temp, the second was, I assume the pressure from the handheld piece and actual shower head?? Still unsure, anyways, the second head, the diverter, SHOT OFF THE WALL and water sprayed out of the spout everywhere. I had to put it back on quickly and turned it SEVERAL and I mean SEVERAL times to get it back on. I feel like maybe that was operator error, but I don’t know how ADA compliant something is, if it comes off that easily (pictured). It was very very late at night and we figured it out eventually, but I was so disturbed with the several issues. Spouse ended up also cutting his arm on the broken piece in the shower, when he washed his hair. I told the desk the day we left about the broken items. I never complained that night, because it was so late, and by the time the next day came around we just did not want to bother swapping rooms when there was a two day concert in town and assumed they’d be super busy. I will not come back to this location, simply because a room like that, an ADA room, should not function like that. I also took photos of stains on the walls I found when taking pictures of everything else the day we left. Only saving grace is that the women at the front were very nice and I don’t want to rate 0 because they were great. OHHHH, I found upon adding my photos that we were also on a floor that must’ve had some other issues, and they had fans out for DAYS trying to try out that room so those were constantly on, but not too disturbing. Our sink faucet also wobbled and turned every time we went to turn on the faucet with the lever. That is all.

My wife and I took our 2 year old to Tampa to see some of the fun attractions. We stayed from Friday through Monday. When checking in, it seemed like the woman at the front desk didn't know what she was doing and I was unsure whether my key was going to work. Luckily it did and we unpacked our bags. Room didnt already have sheets for the pullout bed so front desk had to bring those up and i had to make the bed myself. Hotel is about a mile from Armature Works and Ulele so we walked there for dinner. We got back around 8:30 and wanted to put our toddler to bed. We put her in the bath and turn the water on. Not long after our daughter starts screaming and crying. I felt the water and it was scalding hot AND it wasnt draining! I checked the knob and I had the temperature on the colder side! I immediately took her out and cooled off her feet. Luckily she didn't get any burns. I tried the water at every setting and it was all scalding no matter where I put it. Called front desk and they said they would send someone up to look at it. Guy was there in 15 minutes. He walked in, turned the knob on the tub a couple times, and just shrugged his shoulders. Said he would submit a maintenance request. Thanks, that helps. Called front desk again and told them he couldnt fix it. The girl didn't apologize and just said "uh....did you want a new room?" Ya think!!! She came up and gave us keys to our new room at the opposite end of the hall. Now we have to get our kid dressed, repack everything, and cart everything down the hall. 30 minutes later the tub still had water in it. New room had a functional shower and drain. Pull out mattress looked like they found it in a dumpster behind the hotel. Had rust stains all over it. By the time we unpacked again, gave the kid a bath and got her down for bed it was after 10:30. Taking a tired/cranky toddler to the aquarium the next day was tons of fun. During our stay, room service came one time and just made the bed and took our trash. Didn't bother wiping or cleaning anything. Room only had 2 towels. Breakfast was a joke. All pre-made frozen garbage. And most of the time they didn't have plates or bowls. There was nobody actually maintaining the breakfast area. So there were many things not being replaced. Milk was expired. They didn't refill the orange juice dispenser the entire time I was there. Guests were constantly looking for someone to help and there was no one to be found. Lastly, parking was ridiculous. Theres a parking garage across the street. Residence Inn guests park on the 3rd floor. Parking spots give you about 4-5 inches of clearance on both sides. So if you drive anything bigger than a golf cart you will have a really tough time parking. And they charge you $25 a day which seems steep. Especially when there aren't enough spots to accommodate all the guests. There was one time I had to circle for a while waiting for someone to leave. Overall, you couldn't pay me to stay here again. There's...

My nephew made reservations for a 2 bedroom suite for myself and 95 year old parents 2 weeks ago because we have always stayed there for the last 10 yrs. Including last yr when I booked and pd for a block of rooms for extended family to celebrate their 70th Anniversary and the state got shut down so we were forced to cancel...So this is the first time we were to Tampa since then....Yesterday we arrived a little after 3 and was told that our suite wasn't ready and to come back after 4 and the shuttle was not working which forced me to brave the downtown and find my nephew's condo and also told you had no valet parking either and was told we had to use the Courtyard's valet which is on the back of the block. So at 8pm myself and two very exhausted 95 yr olds returned to Courtyard for valet. I had to carry bags through the Courtyard, pool area to the Residence and then we were locked out of the Residence because we didn't have a key...and we we finally got to the desk about8:30pm the Suite was still not ready, we agreed to taking 2 Studios because my parents were falling down with exhaustion. A very nice gentleman who works for you offered help me carry the luggage because the Resident didn't have any available carts either. We got to the studios and the 1st one 309 was not cleaned up and promised it would be ready in 30 minutes so I said fine went to 311 my parents studio. I got them ready for and in bed. And looked out the balcony at where the hot tub used to be, thinking I would go enjoy the hot tub after a very stressful day and imagine my surprise when I found it filled in with concrete no longer in existence. I called the desk thinking that just maybe they had moved it inside for whatever reason...So now it is about 9:30 and I was notified that 309 is ready and go to my room. Leaving 2 95 yr olds to find for themselves during the night. I took one of their keys so that I could check in on them through the night. And decided that I would take a nice hot soak in the bathtub and go to bed. Except when I tried to fill the bathtub I could not push down the plunger from the shower to faucet so I thought ok I can still fill the tub with the shower. The problems with that is the water was cooling down too fast to fill the tub and for whatever reason after about 5 minutes the plug would pop up and start draining the water out. And as for the water there is either no pressure on the hot water and if you finally get some pressure the water was too cold to stand under. I am highly disappointed on the Residence especially since my nephew set up this reservation and paid for it all. The Suite should have been ready at 3:30 PM with a 2 week advance reservation. He should have been told that there was no longer a valet or Shuttle service and since we are frequent repeat guests you would think that they would have told him no hot tub any more when the topics were brought up at time of reserving. It is possible that you do not no about the bath problems.. We are all very dissatisfied...
