A Truly Unforgettable Experience – JC Newman Factory Tour
From the moment we stepped into the historic JC Newman Cigar Factory, we knew we were in for something special—but the experience far exceeded our expectations. The blend of rich history, craftsmanship, and genuine passion that fills every corner of the building is simply unmatched. It’s more than a tour; it’s a journey through the legacy of America’s oldest family-owned premium cigar maker.
What truly elevated the experience, though, was our extraordinary tour guide. Their depth of knowledge about the cigar industry was nothing short of remarkable. From the origins of tobacco farming to the intricate details of hand-rolling cigars, every explanation was filled with insight, enthusiasm, and personal passion. They didn’t just teach us about cigars—they brought the story of JC Newman and the entire industry to life. You could tell this wasn’t just a job for them—it was something they truly loved, and it made all the difference.
The tour beautifully combines the old and the new, with original antique machinery still in operation alongside a modern commitment to tradition and quality. Seeing skilled artisans hand-roll cigars and learning about the company’s dedication to preserving this craft was a privilege. The museum exhibits, rolling rooms, and even the view from the tower offered layers of depth that made the whole experience rich and engaging.
Whether you’re a cigar aficionado or just someone who appreciates history, craftsmanship, and great storytelling, the JC Newman Factory Tour is an absolute must. And if you’re lucky enough to have the same guide we did—you’re in for a truly unforgettable experience.

Read moreJC Newman is my new favorite cigar company, not that they weren’t already one of my top picks.
I recently flew home from Tampa after taking a few days off. During my visit, I visited some of the smaller cigar shops and makers and stopped in for a tour of JC Newman.
Some of JC Newman’s cigars are a little bit difficult to find around me, and they also had a number of items that were not available outside of their factory store, so I loaded up and planned on taking that bag of cigars on the airplane as my personal item.
After delays, crying babies, and an airplane that was easily 78° the entire flight home, for almost 4 hours, we arrived home and in my exhaustion I left the cigars under my seat.
Of course, JetBlue staff were unable to find the cigars, and I was left empty-handed.
I reached out to JC Newman and they directly contacted me and have given me the highest level of customer service imaginable. A team of four personnel worked to get a replacement shipment ordered and on its way today. They even gave me a steep discount. After reviewing my transaction before coming home they packed a goodie bag with everything that I had bought previously.
I work in the business community, and I can tell you that Customer Service like this is extremely rare. The Perla Del Mar Maduro was already one of my favorite cigars, and I’m now excited to try all sorts of new things from them.
From now on, I will always recommend people try their products as a first stick.

Read moreI highly recommend this tour if you have an hour to spare. Holden did an awesome job as a tour guide. You not only get an up close experience into cigar making but you also get to see the inside workings of an old historic building with a basement, a rarity in the Tampa area. The tour itself is so fascinating. They have done a remarkable job taking you back in time to see each step of the cigar making process. There is a vast array of historic items to look at, feel and smell. I never knew that tobacco leaves could be so soft and they can have such a floral earthy smell. The building, the equipment, the different rooms and areas all have such a great story. It's so nice to see a local company preserve and continue the legacy for future generations to enjoy. You gain an in-depth knowledge of cigar making and you get to see the processes that are taken to create an excellent cigar. You can see the care that goes into making each hand rolled cigar. You can tell that the employees really love what they do at JC Newman. I don't smoke cigars but I have a great appreciation for what the Newman's have done to preserve a piece of history for all to see and enjoy. This tour includes several floors and they have an elevator if you can't...
