Zero stars. I called spectrum three months ago and told them I was looking for competitive discounts against an offer i got for T-Mobile home Internet at less than half of what I've been paying them for year. After an hour on the phone, no deals available. Told them I was gonna leave. They (the customer retention department) ended the conversation at "sorry". Three months later called to cancel AFTER I already set up the new (ten times easier) 5g Internet and miraculously they had a deal to closely match and practically begged me to stay. It felt like they thought I had been bluffing. Arrogance is the word that comes to mind. So to add insult to injury the spectrum store on google maps that was closest was no longer there but still on the maps. Wasted 45min going to an empty storefront. Don't even have the decency to update maps. Had to call again, with ten minutes on hold waiting, to verify a dropoff location and then drove nearly half an hour to find hundreds of people at the ridiculously understaffed (sad) store. Guy next to me said he had been there for over two hours waiting to drop off equipment. Had to leave and am going to try a different store at opening time. Maybe they will be smart enough to have a line specifically for equipment drop/pickup/exchange because many of the people in that store were slinging hardware in their bag. This overall customer experience is the worst in the industry. No wonder people are leaving in droves. Their outages had also been getting worse and worse. They did this to themselves. Think they corner a market until they do snd then cry boohoo when people run for the escape hatch when a competitive service emerges. Foolish business strategy. I am so glad to be done with the "cable" era. Totally wireless rocks and the 5g home Internet is faster than spectrum was. Years of torture and gouging prices then a game when I gave plenty of opportunity to offer me something to stay? Amateurs. I feel terrible for their employees!!! Good bye spectrum hope to not see you...
Read moreSpectrum always was good to me as far as internet even though they choose odd times to update their systems. I went and switched to Spectrum wireless and was never offered the $12 a month insurance which I would have absolutely taken but the guy said if I need insurance I had 30 days to get apple care . Nothing about a $12 insurance . Well my phone got stolen and I was able to track it I know exactly where it is in Georgia (the guy turned the phone on at his house) cops can't do anything without video of him taking the device. Now because I wasn't offered the insurance I have a $700 phone I still have to pay off that I don't have anymore. I just lost a phone I bought through apple but was sold insurance that didn't cover lost and theft. So now I'm told if I switch companies and don't pay my bill for the lost phone I lose my internet and cable as well. So thanks Spectrum for hiring incompetent employees. I'm now out a $700+ phone and am about to lose my internet and cable as well. Do not switch to Spectrum mobile. I will make sure every person I meet for the rest of my life hears about this and when asked about cell companies I will absolutely refer them to a competitor. They offered me a $50 credit so ... yay I'm only out 650 ... Spectrum got me good. Nice scam you guys have running there. "We give you phones and hold your internet and cable hostage if you don't pay" great customer service... yea I know I'm one voice they don't care about me or my problems even though it would have been a lot easier to pay a deductible rather than having to pay for a new phone all together ....
Read moreThere is never more than one person available to help customers in the Tarpon Springs store which always results in long lines and extremely long wait times all due to one Spectrum employee; Y.L. He is the employee who is short, overweight, wears glasses and has gray hair. He NEVER waits on a customer, always eithers makes himself appear busy at the counter or walks away from his work station and hides in the back when there are multiple customers waiting. I have witnessed this on three occassions. Today, he was hiding in the back while Michael, a Spectrum employee, was helping a customer while four of us stood in line waiting. While I was being helped by Michael, Y.L. came out of the back and interrupted Michael three times over an accounting issue. Michael asked Y.L. twice to please not interrupt him because he was working with a customer, me, but Y.L. continued to interrupt Michael as I stood there. Y.L. finally walked away.m, then exited the store without saying a word to the four customers standing in line waiting. I've witnessed him do this exact same thing duringbmy last visit to the Tarpon Springs Spectrum store. This occurred at approximately 6:15pm today, 5/17/19. Y.L. does not care about customers and is a horrible representative for Spectrum. He...
