I walked into this library one sunny day, feeling a little perplexed as to why I was even walking into this very establishment. But I did so anyways. Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe I thought I could find a cute library girl. Anyways, as I walked into this place, I noticed it's pretty cute. I'd give it five stars. I didn't really stay long, but something caught my eye as I was about to leave—a small, dusty book tucked away in a corner. It was bound in old leather and had no title on the spine.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I pulled the book off the shelf. The cover was embossed with intricate patterns, and as I opened it, a faint, musty smell filled the air. The pages were filled with handwritten notes and sketches, almost like a personal journal from another era.
One particular entry stood out: it described a hidden room within the library, accessible only to those who truly sought knowledge. Intrigued, I decided to follow the cryptic instructions. They led me to an old, ornate bookshelf in the back of the library. I carefully counted the books as described, and when I pulled out the tenth one, a soft click echoed through the room. The bookshelf slowly swung open, revealing a narrow, dimly lit staircase.
With my heart pounding, I descended the stairs. At the bottom, I found a hidden room filled with ancient texts, rare artifacts, and mysterious objects. It felt like stepping into a different world. Among the treasures, I discovered an old diary that chronicled the adventures of a librarian from centuries ago who had uncovered countless secrets within the library walls.
As I read through the diary, I realized that this place was more than just a library—it was a gateway to hidden knowledge and untold stories. I spent hours in that hidden room, losing track of time as I delved into the mysteries it held.
When I finally emerged, the sun had set, and the library was closing. I left with a sense of wonder and a newfound appreciation for the power of curiosity. That day, I didn’t find a cute library girl, but I discovered something far more valuable—a hidden world of knowledge waiting to...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I walked in, mind you we are a gay couple, and before us a straight couple walks in. They start making out next to the area where my lady and I are signing up. We walked hand in hand and as we were finished and we kissed each other, that's it, one single peck, the staff didn't seem to mind in comparison to the other couple with their tongues down each others throats. One of the employees decided to come up to us and tell us our PDA is out of control and we need to leave. This saddens me because out of ALL of them, the one that looks like more of a lesbian than the two of us combined has the audacity to call us out. We get more respect from Tualatin than Tigard and I will never go there not because she kicked us out, but because of how she decided to deal with the situation.
I hope the Tigard library talks with their employees about how to handle situations and remind them that they are representing a business. It doesnt matter what their beliefs are when they are on the clock. They lost my business and all of my other gay and straight...
Read moreNot that it's Tigard Library's fault (at least hopefully not), but the removal of Literary Cafe from their lobby is a major loss to the library's overall quality and appeal. Local, organic, sustainably sourced foods and coffees were hand prepared, brewed and cooked daily, at sensible prices for all library patrons. These owners fed the homeless, gave rides to late high school students, offered water to thirsty dogs tied up outside, and were generally wonderfully generous people. These owners were then offered a laughably unfair contract by the City of Tigard that no one in their right mind would accept, and they rightfully didn't.

The library itself is good. However, a 2 hr max reservation time for their study rooms is very short when college courseloads typically require long, sustained timeblocks to absorb more complex material. They have great book, video, and magazine selections, though, and a nice, roomy ambience (the funky smell in the quiet room isn't appealing, though).
They have...
