Secret Level: A Review So Epic, It Deserves Its Own Cutscene!
Alright, folks, gather 'round, because I need to talk about Secret Level. This isn't just a store; it's like finding a legendary loot drop in a dumpster fire of mediocre retail. Seriously, I walked in expecting a few dusty PS2 games and maybe a sad Pikachu plushie, but what I found was a treasure hoard that would make even a maxed-out dragon jealous. I'm pretty sure their inventory is powered by some kind of infinite money glitch, because they've got everything. My wallet screamed "GAME OVER!" faster than I can say "lag spike," but my inner collector was doing a victory dance so intense it unlocked a new achievement. The staff? They're not just employees; they're like NPCs with maxed-out charisma stats. They actually know their stuff, and they're not afraid to geek out with you about the obscure lore of Chrono Trigger or the optimal build for your Dark Souls character. It's like finding a party of highly skilled adventurers when you're used to solo-grinding through the retail wilderness. Honestly, if you're a gamer, a collector, or just someone who appreciates a place that clearly poured its heart and soul (and probably a few rare candy bars) into its passion, you NEED to visit Secret Level. My only complaint is that they don't have a fast-travel option directly to my house, because I'm pretty sure I just found my new respawn point. Five out of five power-ups, would...
Read morei haven’t gotten to look through the wide variety of games they have just yet, but they have everything from WII games to game boy cartridges, to PS4 games. pretty much any game you can think of for any console they most likely got it for ya. Staff is super polite and helpful, always has some kind of new recommendation every time i’ve been in, and the owner is there frequently to build rapport with his customers. i mostly come in for cheap packs to rip when i can’t find anything locally for pokémon cards and never fail to find something interesting to take home with each visit. every interaction i’ve had with Secret Level’s employees has been a new experience to remember. you’re not rushed to come up to the register, you’re free to roam around without anyone rushing for a sale, the employee’s don’t try to press you to buy more of a product, and best of all, they’re honest about their views on certain products. i’ve never been to game room that hasn’t tried to upsell, push for a sale, rush , or attempt to take advantage of me as a customer until going to secret level. these guys really care about the hobby more than the dollar it makes and as a collectors- i appreciate making the hobby more affordable to...
Read moreI came in yesterday to grab a CRT TV for my PS2 and the owner was kind enough to help me get the stuff to my ride. Also I appreciate him making sure I knew what cables I needed for the hookup, even offered to just give me one if he had it. They really have a great selection of stuff, boxed retro consoles being the most impressive in my opinion. What's not great is the effect this place will most definitely have on my wallet! Don't get me wrong, the prices seem pretty reasonable (although I have no idea really, I know people on Etsy were trying to sell me a crt for around 100 average and I got mine here for 50 so) but with so much stuff, I feel like a kid in a candy store. Also the freeplay arcade machines and console hubs are a nice touch, seems like a cool place to just hang out for a bit after or before ya make a purchase. It makes me happy to see a family doing well with a business like this, keep up the good...
