I have lived in Vail AZ for 15 years and it was not until recently that someone I work with asked me if I have ever been to see the worlds largest rose bush in Tombstone. I had NO idea what he was talking about, as many times as I have been to Tombstone. How did I not know about this gem of a museum/site?

We made a special drive up, it was worth it even through the rose bush was not in bloom. It costs $5 to get in -- totally worth it (your ticket is a cute postcard you can send to someone). There is SO much history in the museum part of this site. So many cool historical artifacts. The rose bush is gargantuan. I actually just sat out there and looked at it for 30 minutes... there are little tables/chairs outside. There is also an adorable dog that pads around the museum, his owner mans the front desk as you enter. Any place that is dog friendly, is a place I...

Absolutely gorgeous!

The gal at the desk gives you post cards with your admission ($5 per person regardless, children 18 and under free w paid adult) that have a picture of the tree from around turn of the century next to a more recent picture of the tree. My step daughter wanted one so we bought a couple extra for her. Definitely pick up a couple more post cards from her little gift shop behind her.

The walk through the house is short but gorgeous. Lots of artifacts and info about the owners and the rose tree. We walked around the outside in the back where the rose bush is and got some pictures from a walkway they have put there of the top and overall abundance of the tree. I highly recommend doing this. Even with the sun and heat, take a few seconds and take pictures.

I feel like no matter what you do in tombstone you’re...

Me and the wife stayed at the rose tree museum. I believe they only have 2 rooms you can rent through air bnb. This was a beautiful spot to stay and very convenient. We could walk anywhere in town from our door. They say the best time come is in the spring when the flowers are blooming and it smells great. Lots of birds 🐦 in the morning around the rose tree sounds great. The rooms are very nice and clean and they have a huge shower and nice bathroom. They also give you free access to the museum. The museum is very cool. There is lots of great historical information. The owner is a descendent of the original owner who planted the rose tree. He is very knowledgeable, nice and friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in tombstone its a...

Affordable date idea in Southern Arizona🌹❤️‍🔥 Just under three hours from Phoenix and an hour from Tucson lies the LARGEST rose bush in the world!! As you walk through, you’ll be surrounded by the wonderful scent of the rose bush, which adds to the romantic ambiance here 😌 Back in 1884, newly wed Henry Gee and his bride Mary moved from Scotland to Tombstone. Their family had sent them a care package that contained plants and bulbs to remind them of Scotland and so they planted them all, including a root of a White Lady Banksia rose that Mary had planted back in Scotland when she was a child. It’s incredible to see how expansive the rose bush grew! Tag who you want to take here 😍 #dateideas #arizonadateideas #thingstodo #rosetree #rosebush #roses #tombstonearizona #tombstone #arizona #explorearizona

This place doesn't only offer you a tour into someone's way of living back in the gunslinger era, "but" the beauty one captures with the human eye as soon as one steps into the backyard is like NO OTHER.... As much as I tried my "very" best to capture the beauty of the Rose Tree, I "just" couldn't... it's that type of beauty that unfortunately can "not" be captured.... And "I" for one, respect that to the VERY fullest, because somethings in life must be seen in person in order to get that "overall" appreciation of what Mother Nature has to offer.... Truly a MUST!!!!

We were lucky to visit when the rose bush was in bloom and it was amazing! Staff was friendly and punny😁(mention the fans and he will have you rolling). $5 for entrance (anyone over 14) and kids are free. The museum is small, but they have some amazing things. Texas Republic currency and a wooden bowling ball were something you don't see everyday. The rose bush is epic and so cool! Pictures don't do it justice and it really has to be seen in person, so that you can get a feel of how large the thing is.
