I had to wait for my anger to subside in order to write a fully coherent review for the O.K. Corral.
This show is:
NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN
Not because of the content (which is rather janky according to our party that remained), or the guns, but because the gun shots are unnecessarily LOUD and the place is an echo chamber. After the very first shot, I had to leave with my 7 month old to protect her hearing. My 2.5 year old left with dad not soon after. I checked at the front desk - there is no warning about the sheer volume of the shots fired.
When I asked the man behind the desk why we hadn’t been warned about the loudness of the show, he said “Parent’s usually ask”, potentially inferring that I was a bad parent because I hadn’t asked…?
Surely it is the responsibility of the business to say (when we asked about purchasing tickets for our babies) that it wasn’t really suitable for their little ears? It could do long lasting damage to a babies hearing and they didn’t care. It just should have been mentioned that it’s “not appropriate for children especially under 5yrs” instead of stating “children under 5yrs old are free”.
I asked for a refund for our tickets and the man simply shrugged and said we’d have to wait for the owner. He did not know where they were or when they’d be back.
They simply do not care. Poor quality show. Poor quality staff. And incredibly dangerous sound levels - not informing paying customers that these are full round blank shots and therefore LOUD, is...

But the O.K. Corral is more than just a gunfight. It's a step back in time. Wander through the historic buildings, check out the exhibits, and soak in the atmosphere. You can almost hear the clink of spurs and the chatter of prospectors. They've done a fantastic job of preserving the history and making it come alive.
Yeah, it's a tourist trap, sure. But it's a good tourist trap. It's the kind of place where you can embrace the cheese and have a blast doin' it. Plus, where else can you stand on the very spot where history was made and imagine the bullets flyin'?
So, saddle up, partner, and head on over to the O.K. Corral. It's a rip-roarin' good time, and a must-see for anyone visitin' Tombstone. Just watch out for stray...
Read moreTombstone is known for this very spot, so it's obviously a must if you come to Tombstone. It's free to go inside the main shop but you have to pay $10 per person to explore the back courtyard and stables and the main draw: the staged gun fight. There are a few areas in Tombstone to see staged gun fights, but this one is by far the most recommended based on the fact that it's the OG and happens at the actual O.K. Corral, even the locals stated that. Go early that way you don't miss the show, as they are known to sell out especially during peak seasons and weekends. The gun fight is about 20 - 30 minutes and very entertaining, audience participation is encouraged like applauding the deputies and booing the cowboys for an added comical touch and they all have fun with it. Pictures with the actors are welcomed after the show which always makes the little kids go crazy. The staff inside the store are fun to talk with and very nice. Also, for fans of the movie (which I'd assume most everyone visiting Tombstone to begin with probably are), there are some props inside the store to read up on and admire. Prices inside the gift shop are on par with most everything else in Tombstone, though they do also have some exclusive merchandise being that they're the actual O.K. Corral. Overall, very fun and highly...
