PJV resident here. There's a few independent areas.
There's a lot of green grass to put out a blanket and eat, play with the kids or dog. There's only a couple of picnic tables to sit at. The big blue chair is there where a lot of people like to take pictures. It's right by a small boardwalk so people can walk out for a view but it's only one small walkway so once you get to the end it gets easily crowded. It's just a wooden walkway essentially.
The "splash pad" is really boring and honestly it's dangerous. The whole thing is concrete, and the space is about a 12 x 12 area which is really small. The water doesn't stay on for very long and you have to press a button every time you want more water to come out of these 4 hard metal frogs that spray water out. And the frogs are on the curb of the splash pad making them a trip hazard.
In the same area as the concrete water area, there's also half a wooden boat for the kids to climb and pretend on but the ground in that part is wood chips which makes zero sense for kids with no shoes on. It's really just a place for kids to get a little wet and cool off. Overall bland,...
Read moreThe park has been updated in the past few years along with the entire town. There are new coffee cafe's, restaurants and things to do in town. Being a resident of BT/PJ over the past few years has been one of the most pleasurable experiences of my life. The people are so nice, the town is hustle and bustle during the summer, quiet during the winter. The tourist trade starts picking up in Spring. Walking down Port has always been one of my favorite things to do in Spring through Fall. The atmosphere is just so picturesque. I love taking pictures of the town and the waterfront. I could spend all day here and never get bored with tons of food and ice cream options to choose from, it will certainly...
Read moreMy family and I live nearby and spend a lot of time here. It's a nice place to take a walk. There's a large lawn that usually has plenty of space for sitting down with snacks and a blanket or letting the kids run around. It's also a popular dog walking spot. This space is also used for village events like concerts, outdoor movies and the weekly farmer's market. Parking can be a little tight especially on the weekends so you may need to park in the village proper and walk the rest of the way. There are some small beaches you can explore and it's very close to the popular boutiques and restaurants in...
