To start, for an older person as myself, it is way too hot in this store. It is hotter in the store than outside. It clearly affects the quality of the products sold too. The ice cream is visibly melting while it is still in the freezer. I came here with my granddaughters and they were looking forward to their ice cream, so we still got it, but it was an absolute mess with the ice cream melting all over their hands, since it was already becoming a liquid and starting to run down the sides of the container as they were being handed it.
I also witnessed some guy yelling at an employee. I was told by someone else it was the owner. I get customer service is a priority, but from what I saw, the employee was working and cleaning. It was very uncomfortable for any onlooker and for the customer that was waiting to be helped. The customer was even trying to help diffuse the situation by telling the owner it was okay. I really hope that employee is okay, since the young lady did not deserve the verbal lashing from this man. It is also a very negative managing style that this man has adopted.
Due to the owner’s behavior towards his employees, which today was verbally abusive and demeaning, along with his negligence to maintain his facility, as shown through his inability to maintain a functioning AC system for his product, customers, and employees, I know I will be walking to the many other shops in the area...

This candy store used to be the heart of Port Jeff Village — a place filled with sweet treats and even sweeter memories from my childhood. I’ve always held a special place in my heart for it, which made my recent visit all the more heartbreaking. The atmosphere has completely changed. From the moment we walked in, the mood was off. The workers seemed unhappy and disengaged, and the manager stood with arms crossed, closely watching my father and me as we simply browsed. It felt unwelcoming — like we were doing something wrong just for looking around.
On top of that, the temperature inside the store was unbearably hot — hotter than the summer night outside. It was stifling and uncomfortable, which made the experience even worse. We decided to order ice cream, hoping to salvage the visit, but even that was a letdown. The "hard" ice cream was so soft it was melting before it even reached the counter.
It breaks my heart to write this, but I won’t be coming back. Some places are better left in memories, and sadly, this is...
Read moreI am wondering if the owner is aware that the sign makes the store unwelcoming to anyone who would rather leave their political views out of their meals and conversations when enjoying them. It is disappointing the conversations, stares and the negative atmosphere now surrounding this store. There is security and chaos in conversations when you are walking by. It seems it is assumed your political beliefs as you can feel the stares. I felt uncomfortable as a woman of color just simply walking by. The stares I get!!!!!!!!!!!! its clear I don't belong. Its inconsiderate to the community. Disasteful............. I will not be shopping here any longer. I assume this is what the...
